So, the next nail polish is the Trend it Up Double Volume & Shine Nail Polish, shade 365.

This seemed like a nice nude shade, and it was 50% off, too! But mostly, I was trying out all the various types of Trend it Up nail polishes, and this was one type that I hadn’t tried yet. So, is it good, average, or bad? Let’s see!

Packaging: just a thick clear glass bottle that is square shaped but rounded near the cap. The cap is black and fits very tight, so don’t worry about spilling it! This is a very simple design of the bottle, but not everything has to be crazy ornate.

Ingredients: diatomaceous earth, interestingly. Also, Lithothamnion calcareum (which is red algae) extract. And for nourishment there is vitamin E and zinc sulfate (to make nails stronger). 3-free (DBP, formaldehyde, toluene). The scent is like any other nail polish. The expiration date is 24 months after opening.

The colour of this nail polish is subtle rose pink, it’s actually more like antique rose than I expected it to be. Still, it’s a very pretty, feminine colour. It looks especially good on pale skin, but I think it would also look good on light and medium skintones, too. It would be more like a nude shade on them, though. I really like this colour.

The brush is quite good. It’s a flat brush with rounded edges that picks up way more nail polish than you’d ever need on a single nail. Even after tapping off the excess, I reckon you could paint 2 or 3 nails with a single dip. The brush is pretty precise and deposits nail polish evenly (the polish itself has a bit of an uneven formula, but that’s not a flaw with the brush). I find the brush to be a bit too large for my nails, but I do have tiny nails, so... yeah.

The formula of this nail polish is not too thick, but also definitely not thin. It’s a gelly, goopy formula that is just watery enough to be easily spread. It’s especially gelly when it dries, it literally feels rubbery. This formula isn’t terribly even, even if you are trying to be perfectly precise while applying it. I must say that I am not a big fan of this formula.

One coat is about ~70-ish percent opaque, which isn’t bad; what is bad, though, is that it looks very uneven with just one coat. It’s much better with two coats. It does look very thick with two coats, though; perhaps that is what they meant by ‘volume’. It just looks thick and rubbery, I don’t know. Definitely don’t apply more than two coats. The texture is very glossy and shiny.

The durability of this nail polish is good, but not really all that great. It gets all scratched up the day after applying it, though it somehow still remains very shiny. The scratches are very annoying. Of course, they can be prevented with a top coat, but that doesn’t make it acceptable to have so many scratches without it. It didn’t chip one bit, until I washed my hair. That’s when it started to chip along the edges of all my nails. So, while it is durable, the scratches are really freaking annoying.

Removing the polish was quite easy and I didn’t have to rub too much. It didn’t leave any stains either.

Overall, this is an alright nail polish. The colour is pretty, and it is pretty durable. But I really dislike how it gets all scratched up as early as day 2 of wearing it. And the formula is quite gelly, and feels literally rubbery when dry. At least the brush is very high quality. I don’t know, I have mixed feelings about this nail polish. It’s not really a bad polish, but it’s definitely not terribly good either. So, no, it won’t be getting a recommendation.
