Last, but certainly not least, here’s the Balea Tuchmaske
Set Your Mind Free!
I got this face mask because it seemed like it would be a
nice hydrating mask with a relaxing scent to lull me into sleep. I also love
trying out all the various Balea LE masks. Besides, the foot cream from the Set
Your Mind Free LE had a divine, relaxing scent, so perhaps this mask would, too!
Let’s start!
Packaging: just a simple plastic pouch. However, it does
have a dreamy, relaxing image of balloons floating in the clouds at sunset.
Also, check out this inspirational quote from the back of the pouch:
“Wonderful moments of lightness reside within you, waiting to be discovered. Let go of your thoughts and embark on a journey. What is your heart whispering in your ear?”
Ingredients: glycerine, witch hazel
(Hamamelis virginiana) leaf extract, raspberry (Rubus idaeus) fruit extract,
panthenol/provitamin B5, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid for nourishment. No
parabens. With such an ingredient list, you would definitely expect this sheet
mask to both deeply hydrate your skin and balance your skintone.
It promises to
smooth out the tone of the skin, hydrate intensely, refresh the skin and give
it radiance. Lots of promises, but the ingredients seem to corroborate those
claims. The scent is sublime! It’s not too intense. It’s so relaxing and
soothing; it smells kind of like fresh cotton or like a gentle flower bouquet.
I love it, I love how gentle and fresh and so dreamy it is! The expiration date
is not marked anywhere, but can be gleaned from the batch code. Since sheet masks
usually last 3 years after the manufacturing date, and the batch code gives the
manufacturing date as 03/2022, it is safe to assume it is going to stay usable
until 03/2025. This mask should stay for 15 minutes.
The sheet is made of a thick but pretty comfortable material
that is quite stretchy. It has a good amount of serum in it, but it is not like
it’s dripping with serum. Still, it’s more than many other Balea masks! The
material of the sheet isn’t too breathable but I like how well it adheres to my
skin, so that it stays exactly in place during the 15 minutes it takes for the
serum to absorb. Although, just like more than 90% of sheets in sheet masks,
this one, too, is too large for my small face so it crinkles all over. I am not
even disappointed anymore tbh, I have gotten to the point where I expect sheets to
be much too large.
The sheet is very easy to apply because of its stretchy
fabric. Again, it’s too large for my face, so that’s why it’s all wrinkled, but
it was simple and easy to fit it on my face, despite the large size.
The serum has an interesting formula: it’s relatively
watery, but still very milky, in a way. It’s also quite greasy. But despite all
that, it’s not really heavy on my skin, surprisingly enough. This definitely
feels like a nourishing serum!
This face mask feels relatively heavy on my face while it’s
absorbing; that’s more due to the thick material of the sheet than the serum
itself. This serum feels very dreamy and relaxing, perfect to just close my
eyes and let my imagination take me to wonderful places. Although it is a thick
serum, it really feels nourishing and slightly hydrating, and not at all
occlusive. At one point I literally felt my skin absorbing the serum. I like
it!
So, 15 minutes later and my skin feels quite nourished and a
bit more hydrated. There is a very relaxing cooling and nourishing sensation!
Even though I can still see some residue left from the serum, that’s not a bad
thing, as it will continue to be absorbed throughout the night. In terms of
visual changes, there aren’t really any to speak of; I’d say that my skin looks
a bit more hydrated and plump, and my pores seem to be narrower, but is about
it. It doesn’t really do anything to blemishes like soothe them, they are still
just as red as before.
Actually, now that the serum has fully absorbed, my skin
definitely looks much cleaner, but not radiant or smoothed out like Balea
promised. Perhaps it’s due to me using witch hazel for a very long time;
perhaps my skin has become completely accustomed to it so it doesn’t look much
different. Still, quite a good result, I like how refreshed my skin looks now
that it’s been absorbed.
My skin looks more calm in the morning than right after
removing the sheet. Other than that it is still about as good looking.
All in all, it’s a relatively good face mask. I like the
sheet, as it’s soft and elastic enough to be easily stretched across the face,
and it has enough serum inside it. The serum is milky and rich and feels very
nourishing, but the results aren’t too impressive. While my skin feels pretty
good, nourished and slightly hydrated, it doesn’t really look terribly
different. My pores look slightly better, but my blemishes aren’t any less red,
like they should be with a face mask that contains witch hazel. Still, I like
the results enough. I think I would recommend this relaxing mask.
Rating: 7/10
Would buy again? Perhaps NO (the results aren’t too
impressive)
