Essence Snow Much Love Cream to Powder Highlighter [01 - The Snow Glow Show!] Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - March 10, 2023
And now, after the blush, let’s see the highlighter from
this LE! This is the Essence Snow Much Love Cream to Powder Highlighter, shade
01/The Snow Glow Show! (what a name!).
I actually never had a cream to powder product prior to this
highlighter. This is what piqued my interest. I first saw it at Müller; I
really wanted to buy it, but then I noticed the blush from this LE. And that blush is the most perfect pinky blush ever! So I skipped buying the highlighter
then, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it, about what cream to powder
actually means, and what it would look like. So I bought it. Let’s see how good
it actually is!
Packaging: just a simple clear plastic case, the same type
that Essence had been using for literally more than a decade now. Some might
say that it looks very cheap, but I think it’s adequate for what it needs to
do, and that’s keep the highlighter safe inside it. It does look so cute,
though, with the dark pink text over the pastel pink colour of the highlighter
inside! It closes very securely, with a nice click!

This highlighter looks very pastel pink in the case, with a
silvery white shine. When you apply it, it becomes silvery, perfectly wintery.
It’s a gorgeous colour, and works great on pale skin! It’s almost the perfect highlighter
colour for me!
Now this is the interesting part! The formula is creamy in
the pan, and when you first apply it, but it becomes wonderfully silky, powdery
soft as you are blending it! It’s such a phenomenal formula that is extremely
easy to use! It sticks to the skin and then blends into it, without any added
texture. Since it’s so creamy it blends extremely easily; it’s actually quite
easy to overdo it! Just be careful and you will be able to build it up slowly,
until it is perfectly shiny, as it is incredibly buildable.
This is the perfect
formula for oily skin; powdery formulas sometimes look like they are sitting on
top of the skin, and creamy formulas sometimes end up fading too much due to
the excess of sebum that characterises oily skin. This is the perfect mix of
both, and indeed, it blends perfectly with the skin’s own texture without fading
because of sebum. It might not be as good for dry skin types, however.
The pigmentation is extreme! Like, it’s really, really
intense if you don’t blend it out. Even when blended out it is fairly intensely
pigmented; it looks totally natural, however, as it blends into the natural
texture of the skin. It’s incredibly shiny, and since it is so buildable you
can control how much shine you want.
This highlighter has an interesting
texture, in addition to having such an interesting formula: it looks soft shiny
in natural light, but it’s actually made of a million tiny glitter particles,
so when you shine a light at it, it becomes finely shimmery, glittery instead.
It looks magical, like you have a sprinkling of fairy dust on your face! It
might be a bit too shimmery for a lot of people, but I really love it and how
magical it is! It also doesn’t exaggerate the texture of the skin, despite
being so shimmery.
It’s so, so comfortable! As soon as you blend it out it
becomes virtually invisible on the skin, and even if you apply it to the inner
eye the shimmer doesn’t feel scratchy at all! It’s just so creamy and soft and
unbelievably comfortable!
Like most highlighters, this one has outstanding performance
on my skin, too. For whatever reason, my oily skin always makes highlighters
stay for a ridiculous amount of time; you’d think that sebum would make it
fade, but most of time it doesn’t. This is true for this highlighter, too; it last
for hours without any changes. The shimmer doesn’t migrate anywhere, and it
stays just as shiny and sparkly as when it was first applied. It’s fantastic!
This highlighter is extremely easy to remove, no matter what
you use. Though, since it is so extremely shimmery, the glitter will disperse
everywhere. That’s a bit annoying, but it’s not a very big deal since it’s such
tiny shimmer. But do keep this in mind when you are removing this highlighter.
All in all, such an adorable, and really phenomenal
highlighter! The creamy formula is a dream! At first it is creamy to ensure you
can easily apply it and that it blends into the skin, and then it turns into a
powdery formula that is extremely easy to blend and layer. Really, it is
incredibly buildable, so you can choose whether you want just a bit of shine or
if you want to shine like a Christmas tree. Appropriate metaphor, as this
highlighter really is immensely shiny and intense, and when light shines on it,
it becomes finely shimmery, like pixie dust! And the colour! It’s the perfect
colour for pale skin: it’s a silvery white with just a tiny bit of pink in it. Having
never used a cream-to-powder product before, this is revolutionary! The way it
blends into the skin looking so natural yet so shiny at the same time, it’s a
dream come true! I really feel “Snow” much love towards this highlighter; it’s
pretty much the perfect highlighter. I know some of you will mind that it’s
this shimmery, but I simply love it! Naturally, it gets my top recommendation!

Would buy again? Absolutely YES (but it’s going to be
discontinued any moment now, it is LE, after all :( )
