Because having an adorable Pengu sheet mask just wasn’t
enough! This is the Sinsay Winter Hand Cream, variant Gingerbread!
I didn’t even think twice when I saw this cream in the
online shop – I just placed it in my cart and bought it immediately! Just like
the Winter sheet masks! How could I not buy this cream, just look at how
impossibly adorable it is! I love penguins anyways, and I also love cute stuff
so this was like a match made in heaven for me! I don’t even care if it’s not
good, at least I’ll have this adorable tube forever! But let’s still see how
good this cream is, shall we?
Packaging: a small tube that feels almost like stiff paper
but also kinda like plastic. Pretty nice
material. The cap is white and closes extremely tightly. All the information
about this cream is in the back. Now, I saved the best part of the design for
last here: the utterly adorable lil Pengi! Aww, she’s sooo cute! And she’s
happy, as well – I’d be happy too if I had such a lovely, warm scarf! And the
little bow... aww 🥹!
Ingredients: glycerine, shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter,
almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil, Ceylon cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum
zeylanicum) bark extract, ginger (Zingiber officinale) root extract, honey/mel
extract for nourishment. No parabens. Oh wow, that’s a ‘spicy’ mix of
ingredients haha! And not only is this
mask sweet as honey in design, it’s actually got sweet honey! This does look
promising! Oh god, this scent is offensive! It smells... wait, yeah... what was
I expecting?? I mean, it is called ‘gingerbread’ for some reason, no? I guess
that this is a gingerbread cookie scent, but I’m not happy with it. I was expecting
a sweeter scent, one that smells like
sweets and cinnamon, not like this. This smells mostly like cinnamon and
nutmeg, with noticeable cloves in the background. Ginger isn’t too noticeable. I
mean, sure, it does smell like Christmas spices, but I really don’t like it. The
first few times I applied this cream, the scent literally triggered my gag
reflex. It’s really bad. But I grew used to it with time, so now it doesn’t
bother me quite as much anymore. Such a shame that this adorable Penguino has
such a terrible scent. Sad. But I guess I should’ve expected it to smell
somewhat like this. The expiration date is listed as a concrete date on the
tube.
Just your ordinary white cream, nothing special in this
regard.
Ooh, what a nice formula! It’s quite greasy at first, but it
quickly becomes rich and creamy and so silky! The more you buff it into the
skin, the richer and creamier it becomes, and at one point it even becomes
a bit waxy. But, even though it may become waxy, it never feels heavy, like, at
all! It does feel like a pretty nourishing formula, for sure!
Like I mentioned, this cream is more lightweight than you’d
expect. It might feel slightly tacky after it becomes waxy, but it soon absorbs
into the skin, leaving behind a silky feeling. It absorbs very fast, so I don’t
have to worry about smudging it when I apply it before bed.
I’m sure that this cream hydrated my hands, but it’s not
really enough. I still wake up with kinda dry hands, and sometimes I still get
those dry patches (keratolysis exfoliativa?). Although, it does make my skin
soft and silky, and that lasts for quite some time, so that’s good. It’s good
enough, honestly. I do wish it was slightly more nourishing, though.
All in all, a good cream, all things considered, although my
skin may be too problematic for it to successfully treat all of its issues. It
is not strong enough to prevent my dry patches from appearing, but it does keep
my skin nicely soft and silky! And that’s all I expected, honestly. The formula
is far better than I expected, as it’s very rich and greasy, turning into a
superb creamy formula as you are buffing it in. Then, it turns into a waxy
formula, at that point it’s already been absorbed into the skin, so, you see,
it doesn’t take long for it to absorb at all! And it feels lightweight and
comfortable. Yay! Now one bad thing: the scent. It’s horrible. I know, I know,
it is called ‘gingerbread’ so guess what it smells like... I was expecting a
sweeter, cinnamon cookie-like scent, which can still be gingerbread. But this
is so spicy, like, literally like spices that make up gingerbread. It smells so
much like cinnamon and nutmeg, it actually makes me sick. Although, this
definitely is a Christmas scent! It’s also utterly too adorable... that little
Ms. Pengi is very happy! She knows this cream is good, and she’s happy because
of that! Or she may be happy because she’s got that chunky ol’ scarf to keep
her warm – either way, this is too precious 🥹! Aww! I’m happy with this cream (barring the
scent), even if it isn’t an excellent one. I would happily recommend it, but it
seems like it’s not coming back. Nooo...
Rating: 7/10
Would buy again? Sadly NO (the scent is too harsh for me,
everything else is good)
