I Heart Revolution Disney The Aristocats Marie Paw Brush Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - February 17, 2024

So, the next item is the I ❤ Revolution Disney The Aristocats Marie Paw Brush!

Alright, I'll admit: I have never actually seen The Aristocats. I do know who Marie is and her personality in general, though. So, the reason why I bought this kabuki brush wasn’t because it’s a collaboration between I ❤ Revolution and Disney, I bought it because I thought it was adorable with its kitty paw shape. And kitties are cute, right? But is this brush good? Let's see!

Packaging: the brush came in a plastic and cardboard box  that had a clear plastic window in front so that you can see the paw-shaped brush. There is also a picture of sassy Marie. It’s a good type of packaging for a kabuki brush, even if it is a bit annoying to open wit all that plastic.

The brush itself is short and stubby, perfect size to hold in your palm. And it is also short enough that you can get really close to a mirror, good for anyone who is more near-sighted! It actually really does look like a cat’s paw, complete with separate toe and central paw pads! It’s really adorable! The base of the brush is pink... what other colour would be fitting for a lady like Marie?

The hairs are synthetic and actually quite long for the size of the handle/ferrule. They are very fluffy and incredibly soft, feeling almost like the softest cat fur luxuriously touching your skin. The hairs are fairly shiny but they don’t look nor feel like plastic. The hairs are white with pink paw pads on the toesies. The hairs feel well-made in general, but they really could be cut a bit more evenly as there are a large number of hairs that stick out a tiny bit. Also, like with many kabuki brushes, there is some fraying, but at least there’s no fall-out.

This brush is marketed as being ideal for blushers, bronzer and highlighters, although I think it is far better suited for compact powders/setting powders and the like. I think it’s just too large and not precise enough to be used for anything besides powders. It applies powder really well, although it does apply a thin layer because of how fluffy it is.

It applies powder evenly and since it is a large brush it is quite easy to apply powder across your entire face in a matter of seconds. It is pretty good at blending, although not really the best. Curious, given its fluffiness. The large size and fluffiness mean that this brush is very easy to use.

It’s quite easy to wash, despite the huge number of hairs. It doesn’t absorb a lot of shampoo so you don’t have to keep rinsing it out. It also keeps its shape after a wash, and there isn't usually fall-out.

The entire I ❤ Revolution Disney The Aristocats LE... so much stuff!

Conclusion: although this brush is cute af, and cat lovers will definitely be enamoured with it, it does leave something to be desired. The good parts are that it is large, very fluffy, super soft and really easy to use. The bad parts are that it applies powder in a slightly thin layer, necessitating more layering, that it’s good, but not really as good as a kabuki brush should be at blending and that the hairs are a bit uneven. I suspect that the raised toes of the paw create a bit of a problem for blending, because it’s not an even, flat surface. It is still a good brush, don’t get me wrong, and if you do find it, don’t think that it’s going to be a mistake buying it. It’s just not the best kabuki brush there ever was, but not every kabuki brush can be that, right? I will recommend it solely based on the softness, relative ease of use and cuteness factor, even if it's not exactly pawfect. Just don’t use it with bronzers or highlighters, it’s really not the right shape for that.

Would buy again? Probably NO
