Hello!
The first of two reviews today: the Benecos Colour Edition
Eyeshadow Brush.
I knew I wanted to have at least one Benecos brush, as they
looked so pretty on the stand! So I went to Müller and I wanted to buy it, but
then I decided against it. Then I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I went
back a few days later and finally bought it. So, let’s see how good it is!
Packaging: it came in a clear plastic bag. Not the best type
of packaging, for sure, but at least it's got something.
The brush itself is quite pretty: it’s got a silver ferrule,
bright pastel blue handle, and black hairs with white tips.
The hairs are synthetic and quite shiny. They are cut
perfectly evenly, not a single stray hair here! The brush doesn’t look cheap,
despite the shiny hairs, it actually looks quite expensive and well-made. You
might think it would feel sharp because of how thin it is, but it is actually pretty
soft, even when tapping on pigment. It’s especially soft when you swipe it
across skin. It’s great!
This brush is fantastic for eyeshadows! It applies pigment really
intensely and richly. It’s also quite even, and, thanks to the large size of
the brush, it’s super easy to fill in your entire eyelid in just a few strokes.
If you turn it sideways it is much more precise, allowing you to make sharper
shapes, though making sharp wings is still quite the challenge for this brush.
It’s neither pointed nor small enough for that. The brush head is paddle-shaped
so that it can also be used for concealers, though I’d personally stick to
eyeshadows with this brush. I feel like it’s a bit too rigid for concealers. And,
while it could blend out concealers, it doesn’t really blend eyeshadows all
that well. It’s just not fluffy enough. I do enjoy using it, though.
It’s extremely easy to wash due to the slick, shiny hairs
that don’t absorb one bit of shampoo. So dirt just slides off it, and you don’t
need to keep rinsing it for too long.
In short, this is a very well-made brush that is a pleasure
to use to apply eyeshadows! I love the large size of the brush head and how soft
the hairs are! I use it to apply eyeshadows across the whole eyelid, but it can
also be used for concealers. The large size makes it incredibly easy to apply
eyeshadow across my entire eyelid, evenly and in a pretty thick layer. It can
be used to get slightly winged out looks, but I would really suggest using a
more precise brush (pencil/eyeliner/smudging brush) instead! Though one thing
it isn’t really good for is blending, so use a blending brush for that. It is
also super easy to clean and/or wash and stays in pristine shape even after a
good number of washes! So, because it was slightly more expensive, I expected
it to be very good, at least. It is that and so much more, so if you find this
brush, don’t hesitate to buy it, it’s a great brush! I recommend it!
