Wet n Wild Bloomin’ Pigment Palette [1114728E - Garden Party] Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - June 02, 2023
Hello,
Here’s something nice for spring, the Wet n Wild Bloomin’
Pigment Palette, shade Garden Party. This palette was part of a limited edition
launched for Spring 2022 called Bloomin’, that had a cherry blossom theme.
Since Wet n Wild limited edition rarely make it to our shops, I had to buy it
as soon as I saw it in BIPA, and I also had a 30% off coupon! I tend to like peachy-pink eyeshadows, so I naturally was quite interested in this palette. Besides, it would be nice to finish off my Bloomin' collection with a nice spring-y eyeshadow palette, cheerful and cherry-ful! So, let's check it out!
Packaging: very simple; some might say cheap. It’s a plastic
case with a clear plastic lid that has a lovely cherry blossom print on it. The
cherry blossom print is quite beautiful in my opinion! It closes surprisingly tightly, with a satisfying click. The only questionable thing is white text on such a pale peach colour. It's barely legible, even with the best lighting. Still, I can forgive that because the cherry blossom branches are just too beautiful. Also, look at that, shade 2 has an embossed cherry flower, how pretty!
Ingredients: Yoshino cherry extract (shades 1, 2, 3, 4),
vitamin E (shades 3, 4), and jojoba oil (shade 4) for nourishment. No parabens.
The scent is subtle, a bit sweet like cherry blossoms. The expiration date is
24 months after opening.
There are 4 colours in this palette: a fine shimmery light
peach, a fine shimmery darker cherry blossom, a shimmery salmon pink with
golden shimmer, and a super glittery
multicolour pink. The colours are very well coordinated, although I would like
a darker shade to make a smoky eye, but this is nice too. They also look very
pretty when used without the glitter shade (I didn't use the glitter in any of the pictures as I despise glitter on my eyes). The colours are definitely cherry
blossom themed and they are very pretty in spring, when real cherries are
blossoming! Although they are a bit same-y at times, they still coordinate beautifully!

Various ways to wear the palette |
The pigmentation is quite nice, in general. The first shade
(light peach) is a bit less pigmented, but it is also pretty close to my
skintone so it will be a bit harder to see anyway. Shades 2 and 3 are very well
pigmented, and look lovely on pale skin. Shade 4 is extremely pigmented, and is
a bit too intense for everyday use. They all apply super evenly, even the
glitter. My favourite is the shimmery salmon pink.
Textures are shimmery (fine shimmer, and regular shimmer)
and super chunky glittery. Applying these shadows is incredibly easy; shades 1
and 2 apply equally easy with a brush or with fingers, shade 3 is difficult to
apply with a brush, while it is super easy to apply with fingers, and shade 4
can pretty much only be applied with fingers. I mean, you can try to apply it
with a brush, but you’ll have glitter in your brush that’s going to be a
nightmare to get rid of. The first three shades feel silky while applying them,
while the glitter feels chunky while applying it, even though it is creamy in
the pan. The formula is silky and soft, except for the glitter shade, which is
quite creamy for a glitter shadow.
Only two shades have no fall-out, and that
is shade 1 (light peach), and shade 3 (Salmon pink/golden shimmer). Shade 2 has
quite a bit of fall-out. Shade 4 has a ton of fall-out, no surprise, it is
extremely glittery after all! It’s pretty much impossible to apply it
precisely. Except for the glitter, they all blend extremely easily. Glitter, as
usual, doesn’t blend well at all. I really love how the three shades look when
used together, especially the salmon pink. And they also feel super silky and
soft on my lids, almost unnoticeable. The glitter feels kind of scratchy in
places but it isn’t as uncomfortable as other glitters.
Shades 1, 2 and 3 are super long-lasting, having absolutely
no creasing after a whole day of wearing it. I cannot say how durable the
glitter is; I didn’t wear it during testing, since it is so difficult to
remove. I reckon it would be quite long-lasting, but it would probably have at
least some creasing. It’s surprising that the shimmers are so durable, I
usually get creasing with them when I don’t use primer under them.
Removal is... interesting, let’s say. While the three
shimmers are incredibly easily removed using oil-based remover, removing them with
micellar water is easy, but there is quite a bit of leftover shimmer. Oh, and
don’t even get me started on how difficult it is to remove the glitter. Do not
try to remove it using just micellar water! You will regret it when you see the
glitter exploding all over your face. Of course, even when you do remove it you
will keep finding residual glitter. So that’s awful. But the other three are
easily removed, so it’s not all bad.
Conclusion: this palette is pretty good, like most Wet n Wild
palettes. The colours are pretty and quite intensely pigmented. They also apply
really easily and feel so silky on lids. They coordinate well with each other,
creating a nice, peachy look, perfect for spring. Shades 1, 2 and 3 are quite
nice to use. The glitter is beautiful and sparkly but it is somewhat difficult
to apply and is hella difficult to remove. That is, by far, the biggest annoyance
with this palette. And it really drags down how I feel about it. Although, if
you skip the glitter, it’s really nice, and since it doesn’t cost much, it’s
worth the money. I would still recommend it, in spite of the glitter. Seriously, just look how elegant and pretty it is!
