Essence Velvet Matte Lipstick [14 - Bubblegum Lip] Review

Now, finally, the last item for today: the excellent Essence
Velvet Matte Lipstick, shade 14/Bubblegum Lip.
I, like many others that I know, have always had this deep
love for Essence and its sister brand, Catrice. For many, including myself,
this love started while we were still preteens. But I continue to love Essence;
to this day it is one of my absolute favourite brands. And the low price point
of its products is, of course, a huge plus! So, after a looooong time, I
finally bought something new from Essence, this gorgeous bright pink lipstick,
because what other shade would I pick if a girly pinky one is available?
The packaging is simple but cute; silver plastic that is
bulbous at the bottom with a transparent domed cap that matches the colour of
the bullet. Again, easy swatching without opening it at the store. The cap is
kept secure by the raised Essence logo, a nice touch. I really like the
packaging Essence used for this lipstick!

Ingredients: in terms of nourishing ingredients there is
only petrolatum. Of course, there are no parabens. The scent is intense, some
may say too intense, but it is fine for me. The scent is aromatic, floral, it
reminds me of roses. A nice detail is that there is an embossed Essence logo on
the bullet. The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

What about staying power? It is endlessly long-lasting;
seriously, it did not smudge one bit after a whole day, and it survived both
meals and drinks like a champ. I did not have to fix it post-meal as it was
still in perfect condition. And even the removal is as easy as can be, just add
some micellar water to a cotton pad, swipe, and voila! No rubbing necessary, it
just comes right off.
In summary: this lipstick is a dream! This time being cheap
definitely does not mean it is of cheap quality; on the contrary, it is of
excellent quality. I was very excited to try this lipstick and it has exceeded
all my expectations. It has quickly become one of my favourite girly pink
shades, and I have quite a few of them. I seriously cannot find a single flaw
with this lipstick; Essence have really outdone themselves! Bravo! This lipstick more than deserves my top recommendation!
