Wibo X Stysio Classy or Sassy Eyeshadow Palette Review

Now for the last, and best, item form the Halloween Mystery Bag from Pink Panda, the Wibo X Stysio Classy or Sassy Eyeshadow Palette.

I already had one Wibo eyeshadow palette prior to getting this one, and that one is freaking awesome! So I had high expectations for this one, especially when I saw the colour story of the palette!

This palette comes in a black matte packaging, with the name of the palette and the brand in gold lettering on the front side and detailed info about the palette (shades, mass, expiration date) on the back. The lid closes tightly enough to keep the eyeshadows from air exposure. On the inside of the lid there is a mirror. I think that the packaging looks very classy, and it feels luxe.

The selection of colours available in this palette is really diverse and beautiful. The palette is divided roughly in half by how tame the colours are: there is a classy side with mostly nude browns, rose shades and matte black and white shades, while the other half has more sassy colours: matte vibrant red, orange, blue, yellow, purple, and pink and a shimmery forest green shade.

The nude shades in particular are ideal for a nice smoky eyes look, while the intense shades are really fun to play with.

Ingredients: nothing nourishing, except in shades 12 [Blinding Lights] and 13 [Green Light], which have Japanese camellia (Camellia japonica) seed oil and oil-seed camellia (Camellia oleifera) seed oil; there are no parabens in any of the shades. The scent is pretty subtle, kind of like soap. The expiration date is 24 months after opening.

Pigmentation: extremely intense, across all shades, the nudes are not any less pigmented than the "unnaturals". The intensity is of course most noticeable with the vibrant shades on the sassy side. I can’t single out any particular shade as a favourite, I adore them all!

Wearing: Fairy Tears + Sunflower + Orange Juice + I've Got Candy

The textures are shimmery or matte, depending on the shade; Undress Me is for example a matte eggshell, I’ve Got Candy is a matte hot pink, while Rich Cop is a shimmery rich brown. Application is super easy using brushes or fingers (for the shimmers). They all blend beautifully. After applying, all shades feel ultra light on my skin, like they aren’t even there. There is one downside though, and that’s that there is a tiny bit fallout during application.

All shades are incredibly long-lasting; even without a primer there isn’t any fading or creasing, even though my eyelids are oily and tend to make most eyeshadows crease badly. This was by far the biggest surprise to me!

Removal is super easy, use some micellar water, swipe it across your eyes and that’s it! Even the vibrant shades come off easily without staining the skin.

Conclusion: what an amazing palette! I was blown away by it, both by how highly pigmented it is, how long-lasting it is and just how beautiful the colours are on my eyes, even without the help of a primer! There’s barely any negatives to mention, the only, very minor one being that there is a bit of fallout during application. Everything else about this palette is just fantastic! I really liked trying to make a Halloween inspired look with the vibrant orange, and then later a more subtle nude smoky eye using the browns. So, as you can see, the possibilities with this palette are near endless; whether you want an extravagant look or a more toned-down look, or a mix of both, or a monochrome black/white look, it has it all. I am most definitely recommending this palette, as it’s such a wonderful gem, and even though I got it as a present, the price isn’t too steep, so it is both affordable and terrifically high quality!

Wibo X Stysio Flip That Lip Lip Kit [1 - Get Naked] Review

For the third item in the Pink Panda Halloween Mystery Bag, I have the Wibo X Stysio Flip That Lip Lip Kit, in the shade 1/Get Naked.

Pink Panda loves to give out Wibo products in their gift bags or gift boxes, so I wasn’t surprised to see this in the bag. What piqued my interest, though, is how light this nude shade looked; I thought that this might be the perfect nude shade for my pale skintone.

This Lip Kit contains a liquid lipstick and a matching lip liner.

Let’s start with the lip liner.

This is a standard wooden lip pencil; its exterior is black with gold text. There is a coloured part on one end of the pencil that matches the shade of the pencil so it can be swatched without opening it. The cap fits tightly.

Ingredients: vitamin E for nourishment; no parabens. The scent is like a regular coloured pencil for drawing on paper, slightly soapy. The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

If sharpened properly, this is a very precise pencil, and applying it is super easy, it doesn’t tug or pull at all. It also doesn’t smudge. The pigmentation is excellent, but since it is so light it’s pretty close to my skintone so it looks paler than it is really.

The texture is completely matte. It looks a bit dry, and it can develop cracks on lips but since it is so matte, I am not surprised. The colour is a very light nude, but instead of being orange-toned like many other nude lip products on my skin, this one is a more cool-toned light beige, which fits my skin better than the more orange tones. It feels okay on my lips, it’s not terribly dry but it is also not extremely soft either; I would say that it’s relatively comfortable to wear even though it’s a tiny bit dry. It does, however, feel tacky, and I don’t like that.

As I mentioned already, this pencil feels a bit dry so it’s no surprise that it dries out my lips, but just a little, nothing too serious.

Longevity: pretty good, it held up fine even after more than 6 hours. Sadly, it doesn’t hold up that well with food or drinks. It fades after eating, and reapplying is necessary as most of the liner will disappear. Removing it is as easy as the application, which is to say, super easy!

This pencil is very easy to sharpen; it doesn’t break easily.

So, this pencil is one of the lighter lip pencils that I own, and this shade has quickly become one of my favourites when I want to have a totally nude look. Even though the pigmentation is excellent and the colour is gorgeous, it’s a bit drying, and it gets destroyed by food. Not to mention that the tackiness is not comfortable. Even still, I really like this pencil, despite its flaws!

Now, the liquid lipstick!

Packaging: nothing special, just a clear plastic tube with a black cap and gold lettering on the clear part. Since it’s clear, you can tell the colour of the lipstick without opening it. The cap closes very tightly.

Ingredients: nothing nourishing here and also no parabens. The scent isn’t too intense and it’s lovely; it smells like cookies or vanilla. I really like how it smells! The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

Wearing just the liquid lipstick

Pigmentation: very intense, although, just like with the matching lip pencil, due to how light it is it might seem paler than it is. The pigment is fully opaque with just one swipe. Even so, it does look better with a liner underneath it. The colour is a cool-toned nude, almost light pink but with more beige pigments added. The formula is thicker, creamy and very comfortable to wear. Application is ridiculously easy, just one swipe is enough to get plenty of pigmentation and if you mess up or if you want more layers it’s so easy to fix it or build up, since it layers so nicely, and it doesn’t look cakey.

Texture: ultra-matte, so matte that if you don’t exfoliate your lips it might form cracks. Even if it does, it’s only a couple of cracks and they’re not terribly visible (unless you get like suuper close and stare at them). Curiously, even though the formula is creamy when applied, it dries to be dry, chalky and not as comfortable as when freshly applied. It’s good that it feels very light on the lips, though. This lipstick is not at all tacky at any point, be it while applying it or after, and let me tell you, it dries so fast, like, after a minute it was already pretty dry. So, even though it turns dry after a while, it’s still very comfortable to wear.

Wearing the liquid lipstick from this kit + Relove by Revolution Super Fill Lipliner [Sweet]

This lippy is incredibly long-lasting, it didn’t look any different after 8 hours of wearing it. It does dry out my lips while it is drying, but after it has dried, it somehow doesn’t dry out my lips, even though it feels quite dry. This lipstick is relatively food proof; I did find that I had to reapply it after eating because it had faded from the centre of lips, but it wasn’t too bad. I honestly expected it to look worse! The biggest surprise this lipstick had in store was just how easy it was to remove; it was super easy to remove using cleansing milk. I think that it would come off easily using just micellar water too. I was shocked by how easy the removal was!

Lastly, the applicator: it’s a tiny doe-foot type applicator. Despite its small size, it applies pigment surprisingly well, and there’s no need to keep dipping it into the tube because it picks up a ton of pigment. Due to its size, it manages to apply pigment incredibly precisely, even in the corners of lips, without smudging. I would like it if it were just a bit bigger but no biggie.

To sum up, this is a brilliant liquid lipstick! The shade is the perfect cool-toned nude which meant that this quickly became my go-to nude liquid lipstick as there are no orange pigments. I love, love how easy it is to both apply and, especially, remove. I expected it to be difficult to remove, but I was mistaken! There’s barely anything bad to say about this lipstick, besides how it can feel dry or powdery on lips, but it really doesn’t dry out my lips so it’s no big deal to me!

Rating: 8.5/10

Conclusion: this lip kit is phenomenal if you have terribly pale skin like me. I think that the shades fit very light to perhaps light skintones. In terms of quality, the liquid lipstick is the better product, but the pencil isn’t that much worse. The shades of the pencil and the lipstick work extremely well together, but, of course, since this is a lip kit, that isn’t a surprise. I would definitely recommend this lip kit!

Pink Panda Nail Polish [Pumpkin] Review

The second item I got in the Halloween Mystery Bag from Pink Panda is their own nail polish, in the shade Pumpkin.

I must say, when I saw this polish in the bag, I was surprised because I hadn’t seen a Pink Panda nail polish in mystery bags yet, and the colour looked amazing, perfectly Halloween-y.

The nail polish comes in a small clear glass bottle with a cap that has Halloween-themed drawings on it (skulls and bats and pumpkins, oh my!). Ingredients are those standard for nail polishes, nothing nourishing here, but also no harmful ingredients nor parabens. The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

The colour is a vibrant orange that I think is absolutely amazing. In some lighting it even looks slightly red.

The scent is like any other nail polish.

The brush is nice, it is wide enough to apply polish evenly and it seems like it’s pretty high quality.

The formula is somewhat watery, but thick enough not to go everywhere while applying it. One coat is already pretty opaque, so I would apply no more than two coats. The texture is very glossy.

The staying power is good, as good as most of my nail polishes. During the 3 days that I had it on my nails I didn’t notice any chips, and it looked pretty much as good as when it was first applied. Since I change nail polishes often, I cannot really judge how long it would last before chipping off.

As for removing it, it went easily, without too much scrubbing. Although I did notice that it had stained my nails in a slightly orange tone after removing it. Of course, since I don’t use base coats when testing out polishes, that was most probably the reason why.

In conclusion, this is a fantastic Halloween nail polish. In fact, I painted it just before Halloween and it matched my Halloween makeup and outfit perfectly! The quality is pretty good, and the durability is also good. I don’t have any real complaints about this nail polish. At the time of writing this (Feb 2022), it is still available on Pink Panda, so, even though it’s more suited for Halloween, if you’d like a shade that’s also quite fitting for spring, you can go buy it! I would recommend it!

7th Heaven Exfoliator and Masque Review

Hello, this time I will be reviewing the items I received in Pink Panda's Halloween Mystery Bag. This mystery bag contained 4 items; the first being 7^th Heaven's Exfoliator & Masque.

So, how did I like this present from Pink Panda?

This mask comes in a sachet that isn’t too hard to rip, although I decided to use scissors to cut it. The sachet contains enough mask for one use.

The ingredients list includes glycerine, orange (Citrus aurantium dulcis) peel oil, vitamin E and vitamin C for nourishment. There’s also black lava and Dead Sea salt, the salt is there to exfoliate the skin. There are no parabens. The scent is terribly intense, like oranges. Honestly, it’s way too overwhelming for me, it’s just too citrusy. The expiration date doesn't seem to be printed anywhere.

This mask is supposed to stay for 15-20 minutes before washing it off, since it is a clay-type mask. That’s not too long, but I do prefer when masks dry in a shorter amount of time, like 10-15, for example.

The mask’s formula is not too thick, but it’s not runny or watery either. It feels like soft clay or mud. It’s also quite greasy. The sea salt crystals are quite big and they do feel like they exfoliate nicely but given their size, I expected them to feel “sharper”.

Applying the mask is very easy; since it’s not too thick it is easy to spread across the face. As soon as I applied it though, I could feel slight tingling on parts of my face, mainly under my nose and on my cheeks. The mask felt tingly and warm there, but on the rest of the face it felt minty and refreshing, like it’s detoxing the skin deeply. I had to remove the mask after 15 minutes instead of 20 like I planned because the warmness and tingling was becoming too much.

So, after I washed it off and dried my face with a towel, I started to feel that warm feeling on my cheeks again, but it was more intense now. My skin looked okay; it was completely matte, my pores seemed like they were narrowed, and the mask removed every single blackhead I had on my nose, but my face just felt irritated. I noticed that my acne seemed less inflamed, so that’s great. What isn’t so great is that my skin both looked and felt very dry, there were some dry patches on my cheeks. It’s odd how my face felt so irritated when there were no signs of irritation (redness, pimples, rash etc).

So, to conclude: I really didn’t like this mask. I pretty much hate the minty feeling while it’s drying, and the way my skin reacted to it. It felt terrible in spite of looking alright; it caused a slight burning sensation in my cheeks and under my nose. To be fair, I am pretty sure that the mask did what it was advertised it would do and that’s detox. Given how narrower my pores looked and how I didn’t have any blackheads after using this mask, my skin was definitely thoroughly detoxed. I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever so I didn’t feel disappointed by it, especially since it was a gift! But I certainly won't be recommending it.

Reviews of Gifts - Part 1

Hello,

this week I have something different for y'all.

I will be reviewing a gift I got with an order on Pink Panda.

The gift is a mystery bag that Pink Panda always offers with orders above a certain amount (that has gone up in recent months - it used to be 220kn but now it's 263kn). Of course, the contents of these mystery bags change with each bag, and there is always a 'theme' to the design of the bag (the contents are usually not themed).

This bag is called "Halloween Mystery Bag - Vol. 1 (A)", and this time the content did fit with the theme of Halloween.

There were four items inside the bag, and I will be reviewing each of them:

I honestly quite liked the assortment of items I got from this bag, the lip kit and eyeshadow palette go very well together and the nail polish is gorgeous! Some bags were a miss, but I think that this one was a hit!

Brush applicator

Trend it Up High Shine Lipgloss [176] Review

Phew, onto the last item for today! Trend it Up’s High Shine Lipgloss, in the shade 176.

Why did I choose this lipgloss (beside the fact that it was 50% off)? To be perfectly honest, because of the duo-chrome effect, the pink-purple sparkly colour drew me in. Just like the last lip liner, this too looked futuristic to me. And I do love me some glitter! And it was incredibly cheap, so why not try it?

Packaging: simple, just a clear tube with silver reflective details and a black plastic cap. To some it may look cheap, but I don’t mind it. Not everything has to be super detailed or have some complex shape. The text is black and easy to read. The cap fits very well so you don’t have to worry about lip gloss spilling out in your purse or wherever.

The ingredients include argan oil, silk powder and vitamin E for nourishment. For such a low price point, this is an impressive list of nourishing ingredients, and it is something Trend it Up would continue to be known for, however good their products may or may not be. There are also no parabens, naturally. The scent is intense, like cookies or vanilla. I like that kind of scent in cosmetics. The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

Wearing just this lipgloss

Pigmentation: it’s fairly pigmented, but the glitter particles are way more pigmented. I would suggest using some kind of lip liner or lipstick underneath, though, to get a crisp outline of your lips and then applying this lipgloss on top to make lips sparkle like the night stars! The formula is very thick and gel-like. As for application, it’s easy enough, until you try to precisely line the corners; the shape of the applicator just isn’t suited to do such precise work, but it is very easy to use on the centre of the lips. This lipgloss doesn’t take too long to set and dry at least a little bit.

The texture is extremely glittery and glossy, but you can’t feel the glitter on your lips thanks to the thick formula of this gloss. Interestingly, it is not tacky, despite being so thick. And this thickness also makes it feel heavy on the lips, it literally feels like there is a thick layer of Vaseline or something on them. Due to that it’s not the most comfortable lipgloss to wear.

Worn with the Haus Laboratories RIP Lip Liner [Slayer]

This is not a terribly long-lasting lipgloss, sadly. Even after just 2 hours it is pretty much gone from most of the lips, only staying on the outer third of the lips. And it doesn’t do well at all with food or drinks. So, you will have to keep reapplying it throughout the day, whether you have had drinks/meals or not. At least it does not dry out lips one bit, which is to be expected given the ingredients. Removing it is super easy, although be careful with the glitter. As with all makeup that is glittery, glitter tends to spread everywhere when removing it using a cotton pad and micellar water. So, instead, use an oil-based remover, like the Nivea Soothing Cleansing Oil for Sensitive Skin with natural grape seed oil (my personal favourite makeup remover).

The applicator: it’s a flat, rectangular brush. This shape is great for applying colour on large surfaces, but it tends to get messy in tight corners (like, say, the corners of lips!). I am not really fond of this type of applicator; I would much prefer a standard doe-foot or reservoir type applicator. And the fact that, among the many lipglosses that I have, this is the only one with a brush applicator, well, that speaks for itself. It’s just not precise enough.

In summary: this is a very cool lipgloss. Personally, I think it is a bit too sheer to wear on its own. The good things are how cool it looks with the bluish tinted glitter, how it is not at all tacky and how many good ingredients there are. The bad sides are that its staying power is mediocre, it doesn’t survive meals and that it just feels heavy. Plus, the brush applicator is an odd choice by Trend it Up. So, I have mixed feelings about this lipgloss, but in the end, I still like it very much. Nevertheless, I won't recommend it, it's just too heavy and has too poor longevity.

Note: this shade has been discontinued a long time ago.

Rating: 6.5/10

Would buy again? NO (ignoring the fact that it is discontinued, it’s just not comfortable enough)

Color Sensational Lip Liner

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner [150 - Stellar Pink] Review

Now for the penultimate item for today, Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lip Liner, in the shade 150/Stellar Pink.

Another spur of the moment purchase, like the Color Sensational The Mattes Lipstick discussed previously and like the next item that I am going to review. This one seemed like it would be the perfect baby pink lip liner for when I want to have lighter, more nude lips. But just how did it compare to my expectations?

Firstly, the packaging. It's simple but very pretty, at least to me. It’s a wooden pencil whose exterior colour perfectly matches the colour of the pencil itself. The text is silver and reflective, which against the very light pink and slightly shimmery background is a bit difficult to read. I suppose black lettering would be more legible, but it would just be too intense, I think. The pencil comes with a clear plastic cap that fits pretty well. As mentioned, the pencil’s colour matches the shade perfectly, so it’s a breeze to swatch it without opening it.

The ingredients don’t include any nourishing ones, not even glycerine, but at least there are no parabens. The scent is somewhat waxy, it honestly reminds me of coloured pencils. The ones you would use to colour on paper, obviously. The expiration date is 24 months after opening.

This is a very precise pencil (like most pencils that I have, I’ll admit). It’s super easy to line your lips the way you want without any smudging or bleeding. The pigmentation was a pleasant surprise; I thought it wouldn’t be all that visible on my fair skin, but it turns out that the pigmentation is very good. As for the application, no problems whatsoever; no tugging or pulling on the lips and it applies pigment evenly.

The texture is metallic, it looks more shiny in person than on photos. I am really digging it though; this was my first lip liner that wasn’t matte or ultra-matte, so this texture looked kind of futuristic to me. And I love futuristic, Sci-Fi stuff! Anyways, this liner feels soft on the lips and, even though there are no ingredients that help prevent drying out, it does not in fact dry out lips. It just feels comfortable to wear, even for hours at a time.

In terms of longevity, it is perfectly adequately long-lasting. In testing, it survived more than 6 hours without any noticeable feathering or fading. It’s very easy to remove too; using nothing more than micellar water I was done in literal seconds. Unfortunately, it doesn’t survive meals or drinks; it fades completely from the more inside part of the lips, so reapplication is a must. That’s a shame though, isn’t it?

I’ve got nothing in particular to say about the sharpening except that it is easy to sharpen. Just like an ordinary coloured pencil, it sharpens easily without breaking or crumbling.

To sum up, I really, really like this pencil and use it whenever I need a very light colour. So much, in fact, that I already bought a replacement for when I use it up. For darker skintones it might be too light, though. Besides not surviving through meals there is not much negative to say really. It’s an all-around excellent lip pencil, with a very pretty colour and a cool metallic finish. I don’t know about the other shades in this range, but this one, I would recommend.
