Now let’s move on to the next item, the Lolete Premium
Blazinice Argan 2u1 (Premium cotton pads Argan 2in1, in English).
I bought these because I was looking for a better way of
removing makeup, besides micellar water. I found them in DM. These cotton pads
claim to both remove makeup with ease and hydrate the skin at the same time. It
seemed like an interesting concept, but how well does it work, actually?
Packaging: just a clear plastic bag with a drawstring. Instructions
for use are printed on the back, in both English and Croatian. There are 40
pads in the packaging, and the pads are all connected to each other in one huge,
folded pad.
The pads themselves are fairly large and very, very soft.
They are made of cotton infused with argan (Argania spinosa) kernel oil and
vitamin E. The pads are also quite fluffy. They are textured on one side and
smooth on the other side. I like their design and feel.
Now, how do you use them? This is where it gets a bit
complicated. The picture next to this paragraph explains how they *should* be
used. I try to do it exactly as described and... it just doesn’t work like it
should, I think. I wet the pad, press it gently between my palms and then swipe
it across my face, but I don’t feel like there’s any cleanser inside it. It
feels like a wet cotton pad, unless I press harder and/or squeeze the pad
(which is strongly suggested to be avoided), only them do I feel and see the cleanser
inside. Also, sorry for accidentally taking a photo of the Croatian side, oops!
This is alright at removing makeup; it’s much better at
cleaning skin, though. It can remove foundation and mascara fairly easily but
it struggles with eyeliners and liquid lipsticks. I would still rather use
micellar water but this would do in a pinch. This means that I tend to only use
them to clean my face before going to bed twice a week. After cleaning my face
with these cotton pads my skin still feels relatively oily so I feel the need
to wash my face after already cleaning it with these pads. That probably isn’t
too good for my skin as I am stripping even more oils from it. It doesn’t
irritate my skin, but there also aren’t any noticeable improvements in the
condition of my skin.
All in all, these cotton pads were a let-down, in the end. Although
they remove makeup relatively easily, there are much better ways of removing
it, even if it’s just micellar water, and that’s without even mentioning
specialised removers. So I ended up using them to clean my skin twice a week,
but it’s... just alright at that, too. And the ease of use isn’t the greatest,
as I still don’t exactly get how to properly use them, even after months of
using them. It should be easy, the instructions are pretty clear, but it’s
still tricky. I don’t feel like these pads were a waste of money, they were an
interesting experiment. Maybe they would be better suited for drier skin types.
But as it is, I definitely wouldn’t recommend them, I just don’t see the point
in them.
