New Stuff - Part 47

By Maychiri's Thoughts - October 17, 2024

It's been a while, eh? Well... hello again!

I was forced to miss posting anything last week because... well, I'll let the photo explain it.

Those are Covid RATs, alright. For the second time, I got Covid, once again from my mother who cares little about keeping any of us in the flat safe... sigh. It's a repeat of August 2022, which is when I last had Covid. Back then, I was freshly vaccinated and it was still hell to go through. This time, basically unvaccinated (my fault, I know!), and with a boatload of various other problems with my health... I don't think I have to explain how pissed I was at her. But, very fortunately, it seems that the strain I caught this time (some sort of omicron variant probably) is a lot less severe than the one I had before. I only had light symptoms, and it didn't take long for my body to flush the viruses out, although I still have post-Covid cough that is very annoying. But, as you can see, it seems that I've recovered, although I still have one more test to do tomorrow to confirm that I am indeed Covid-free. Thank god for zinc - it's a real life saver when you have any kind of viral infection! So, now that I've dealt with this (hopefully...), I can get back on schedule and post some very lovely stuff for y'all to see!

So... today I only have one product, but it's an Essie, so it'll be a good one, I just know it! I went to Müller specifically for this nail polish because they had them at a 20% off discount - and that was for the newest collection they had, which was the Summer 2024 collection, called "Sol searching". No way would I skip this kind of offer, it's too good! I also bought a nice summery shower gel and juice because this gal was getting thirsty af in the summer heat!

All the shades in the Sol searching collection

So, what is the Sol searching collection even about? Well, in Essie's words, with this collection of 6 soothing shades you will "enter your summer meditation haven". Ah, so... yoga, meditation, serenity... I can get behind that! I've practiced yoga in Uni, and that love of meditations and calming exercises has stayed with me, so when I saw this collection I knew I had to snag at least one of the polishes. But, true to it being a summer collection, most of the shades were bright: vibrant orange, vibrant yellow, vibrant rose... with only one colour that was even remotely more subtle, and even then it is a super shimmery one! It's a great range of summery colours, but the violet sticks out like  a sore thumb; to me that is a more wintery colour. The names of the shades are, as usual with Essie, incredibly punny and fun! Ngl, this collection is making me want to don my best mandala sweatshirt, soft leggings and do Sun salutations... but for now, I will just share this one nail polish. I'll save the exercise for when my body is more recovered from Covid.
