The first of two brushes for this week, and one that I have
been itching to get! This is the MUA Blush & Contour Brush!

I was browsing the new section on Notino one day and
happened to see that MUA now has brushes for sale! This was new! I immediately put
one brush on my wishlist because I felt so curious to see hat they’re like! MUA
is usually pretty good, so I was hoping that the brush would be another good
product, especially for the price it is going for. I am always looking for good
blush brushes and this not only had a good discount when I decided to buy it,
but it also came with a gift! I got the MUA Lash & Brow Clear Mascara for free this
way! So, are MUA brushes any good? Is this the blush brush I have been looking
for? Let’s check it out and see!

Packaging: the brush came safe and sound in a cardboard box
with a clear plastic window that allows you to see the brush clearly. The
packaging is black and pretty simple, with white text that makes it look quite
modern and sleek. Also, in case you didn’t know, this brush was made with
recycled materials: bristles are made of 100% recycled synthetic fibre, ferrule
is made of 30% recycled aluminium, and handle is made of 100 recycled plastic.
Eco-friendly!
As for the brush itself, it is quite elegant, but also
relatively basic in design. The handle is this neutral light grayish/beige-ish
colour that I honestly really like. It’s a good break from all the vibrant
brushes! The ferrule is rose gold metallic and feels quite robust; also, the
MUA logo matches the colour of the ferrule. The brush head, though, is so
pretty! While it is a basic colour for brush hairs, it is still very pretty and
elegant! The hairs have a beautiful gradient, going from white at the tips,
then to a lovely natural dark brown for just a short amount, then finishing
with a light cream colour all the way to the ferrule. The brown band really
adds a touch of elegance! And I love the cream colour, it looks so rich yet so
soft! All in all, the brush is built very well, with not a single part of it
looking or feeling cheap! Bravo MUA!

Now, the hairs – in more detail! They are synthetic but
don’t feel synthetic at all! They are a bit shiny but they still look almost
natural; I’ll chalk it up to the colouring, which imitates real hairs. The
hairs are cut pretty evenly, with the few that are uneven being only a tiny but
longer. There was also one or two hairs that seemed like they were frayed, but
it could be just from me using the brush and not storing it exactly the way I
should between usages. The hairs seem to be very high quality in general! They
are extremely soft; they feel like the softest fur on my skin! It’s so amazing!

And it is also excellent in terms of how it performs! It
picks up a large amount of pigment, but not too much. It’s always been the
perfect amount, so far, to give me naturally flush cheeks! And it deposits the
pigment so evenly and perfectly that it’s a miracle! I am done with blush in
seconds, where it used to take me at least a few minutes to get it to look
right! It’s so easy to use! And the larger size means your entire cheekbone
gets covered evenly so that you don’t have to fiddle with it too much! It also
blends amazingly well, without overblending the pigment! The angled shape of
the brush is ideal for blushes, it could also be used for contouring, although
it is a bit too fluffy for that in my opinion. I tend to use it exclusively
with blushes because it is absolutely perfect for them!

Washing this brush is as easy as counting to three! It
doesn’t absorb any shampoo so you don’t need to keep rinsing it and makeup
just slides right off it! It doesn’t fray or show any signs of damage
post-wash, not even a single hair fell out! It’s still every bit as soft and
amazing as it used to be!
In conclusion, this is a stupidly awesome brush! Like, it’s
so good it puts a lot of expensive, high-end brushes to shame! Not only are the
hairs ridiculously soft and gentle, they are also quite high quality, as there
is no fraying or fall-out or any other defects whatsoever. The brush picks up a
large amount of pigment and deposits it evenly and richly – perfect for
blushes! I cannot stress enough how well it applies pigment! Like I am having
so much fun applying blushes because it makes the whole process extremely
simple and easy. And it also blends so extremely well that it doesn’t matter
make a mistake – this brush will fix it in no time! This all means that blushes
always look incredible when I use this brush! Even if I am in a hurry and
cannot be as precise as I’d like it’s not a problem with this brush, it will
make sure my blush game is on point every time! I am truly in love with this
brush – and here I was contemplating whether to even buy it! I thought it would
just be another run-of-the-mill brush but it is so, so, so much more than that!
Truly a superstar brush! I am so glad I got it in the end! I will happily give it
my top recommendation, it is damn near perfect! So don’t hesitate to buy it if
you see it!
