Avon Care Restoring Moisture Hand Cream with Coconut Oil Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - April 28, 2025

Let’s now take a look at one of the hand creams, how about the Avon Care Restoring Moisture Hand Cream with Coconut Oil?

I am a sucker for limited editions! This is an LE variant of Avon's standard coconut oil cream, but a very summery variant. I instantly fell in love with the illustration on the tube, but I had to act quickly or this LE cream would go away forever! So I wasted no time, and added it to my cart as part of my monthly Avon order! So, let’s see if it is just cute to look at or if it’s a good cream as well!

Packaging: very cute and summery! I love this special limited edition design! So colourful and fun! There’s a fun illustration of a pool with a swan pool floatie next to a coconut drink. It must be enjoying that drink! Oh, imagine being here, drinking that drink under the umbrella... so wonderful! The cap is dark blue and closes really securely. This is definitely a significant improvement to the regular design, which is pretty boring, tbh. This is super fun! I love it!

Ingredients: glycerine, coconut (Cocos nucifera) oil, vitamin E for nourishment. No parabens. The scent is fairly pleasant, actually! It smells tropical and summery, like real fresh coconut! There’s no bitter scent in the background like with plenty of coconut smelling creams. Instead, there’s a bit alcoholic type of smell, which makes me think of piña colada! Delicious! The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

This is a standard white cream, nothing too special in this regard.

This cream is very greasy. However, it’s not thick or heavy. It’s actually very lightweight, even if it’s not really thin. It definitely feels hydrating right off the bat! It’s really pleasant to use as the formula feels silky and smooth and absorbs in seconds!

While you are buffing it into the skin there is a hydrating, slightly cooling feeling. It’s quite pleasant! However, as this cream absorbs so quickly, it soon becomes invisible on skin, even when you touch it. It leaves the hands smooth and softer, although not as soft as I’d like. I still think it’s hydrating enough for oily or normal skin; dry skin types would probably need something thicker and more hydrating.

My skin feels alright the next morning. It’s not super hydrated or super soft or anything, but it’s also not dry, which is good in my book. I do wish it was a bit more hydrating, though. Note that I hadn't yet developed the severe psoriasis that I have currently when I tested out this cream!

Overall, not a bad cream. Not at all! I love how silky and soft it feels, and how it’s not at all heavy or tacky. It’s pretty greasy, but I don’t mind that here, as it adds to the silky feeling. While this isn’t the most hydrating cream out there, not even close, I feel like it still hydrates my skin enough. It would be better if it were more hydrating though, as it is marketed toward dry skin, and if it I say that it could be more hydrating, with my oily skin, then it cannot possibly be enough for dry skin. I’d say normal/mixed is the ideal skin type. The scent is lovely! It’s so summery and like real coconut, with even a bit of an alcoholic base, making it smell more like piña colada! I love this scent! And I love how fast it absorbs as it is gone in about a minute, leaving you with soft skin and zero tackiness. I am satisfied with this hand cream, so I think I will recommend it to those with normal skin; dry skin people should keep looking for a more nourishing hand cream.
