S.he Colour&Style Quick’n Crazy Nail Polish [323 - 620] Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - July 27, 2024

Another nail polish, another S.he Colour&Style. This is the S.he Colour&Style Quick’n Crazy Nail Polish, in the shade 323/620!

Another nail polish that my mother just came and handed me. I’m really not one to wear red nail polishes, sadly. Although I love how they look, I really hate how most red nail polishes tinge my nails slightly reddish after I remove them. So I tend to just avoid them altogether. That said, I wasn’t excited at all to see this nail polish among the ones she gave me. Not only is it bright red, it’s also a Quick’n’Crazy, which haven’t been good in the past. But hey, she spent money and at least a bit of time on choosing these so the least I can do is try them out. Now, let’s see what this one is like!

Packaging: very basic, just a little glass cube that is very light. The text is silver metallic, which is fine with this shade of red. The text in the back is white, which is an excellent choice. The cap is silver metallic like the text in the front and closes super tightly. However, it’s also a fingerprint magnet, which isn’t fun.

Ingredients: nothing nourishing and 3-free (DBP, formaldehyde, toluene). It’s only got 10 ingredients, not counting the pigments. This is pretty slim! The scent is like most nail polishes, but there is a certain sweetness to it... interesting. The expiration date is 36 months after opening.

Brush: okay, the brush here is decent. It’s a small flat brush that picks up entirely too much nail polish (don’t forget to tap off the excess). It applies it evenly and it’s pretty precise, so I don’t have much to complain about, really. It’s fun to use!

Colour: a bright, vibrant cherry red! It’s got a bit more orange undertones than blue, which makes it look warm and fun. It’s still an evergreen colour, one that looks good on all skintones and in all seasons! Although if is particularly good for summer, with nautical style of clothing, for example! Navy stripes and red nails, classic combo! It’s a gorgeous colour, even though I’m not used to wearing red nail polish. It looks especially bright and vibrant on my pale skin! I wouldn’t exactly say that this is a sexy red colour, it’s more of a fun, sweet one I think.

The formula is lightweight but it feels a bit cheap. It’s definitely gelly, but it also feels too thin in some ways. It’s extremely easy to use, though. Zero fuss, literally!

One coat is perfectly opaque and looks very nice. The colour is already very vibrant with one coat, but it’s a bit too sheer. I can still see my nails underneath, and I would like it to be opaque. With two coats it seems to be almost completely opaque; I say almost because I think I can see a tiny bit of my nails underneath. But it’s opaque enough. The texture is very glossy.

Longevity is, for lack of a better term, garbage. It starts to chip within 24 hours, and it’s not small, barely noticeable chipping either. Large chunks start to fall off by day 3, so it looks awful by day 3. God forbid you accidentally touch the nail polish, it will chip off most immediately. It’s terrible... what use is a nail polish that cannot tolerate anything?? Of course, a hair wash decimated it, and by the end of day 5 it looked atrocious. Half chipped off on all nails, just what I wanted... but there is one good thing, if you’ll believe it. See, it doesn’t really get scratched up... yay. That’s for sure going to be useful once half of an entire nail chips off...

Removal: while it is pretty easy to remove (it doesn’t require a whole lot of rubbing to remove fully), it does stain my nails red. It’s not as visible on the white part of the nail, but the nail bed is definitely more red than before. This is a known issue with red nail polishes and is the top reason why I choose not to wear them except on specific occasions. It’s very frustrating having this red tinge to my nails...

All in all, a godawful nail polish. That’s it, it’s simply horrible. The only good things are the brush, which is easy to use, and the colour, which is very elegant and pretty. But everything else? Straight into the rubbish bin. The formula feels cheap, and it has literally 0 tolerance for... well, anything! It chips off as soon as you just touch the nail polish... how absurd is that?! By the end of day 5 it was in a really sorry state, all chipped off and just flat out ugly looking. Ugh. Horrible. But the colour is quite elegant; it is a vibrant cherry red that isn’t as sexy as it is elegant and playful at the same time. It looks stunning on pale skin but it is one of those colours that looks good no matter what colour your skin is. But imagine the high point of the nail polish being solely the colour... yeah, it’s that bad. Now, I knew deep within that it wasn’t going to be good – most Quick’n’Crazy polishes have been bad, to say the least – so I am not too upset. Meh, it was a gift after all. Nope, 0 chance it gets any recommendation, you’d be better served buying a red Catrice ICONAILS instead...
