Makeup Revolution Fast Base Glow Highlighter Stick [Rose] Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - February 09, 2023
The first review from Notino's Revolution Mystery Bag (2021)
is the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Glow Highlighter Stick, shade Rose.
I had used the Fast Base Foundation Stick previously and I
really liked it. This highlighter stick is part of the same product line of
on-the-go face makeup as the Fast Base Foundation. So I was eager to try it,
though I had some reservations about the colour. It seemed like it would be too
dark to be used as a highlighter on my skin.
Packaging: very simple, non-descript pink case. It’s
reflective metallic, so it’s bound to be covered in fingerprints in no time. The
cap fits very securely and makes a satisfying click when you close it properly.
Inside is the retracting mechanism, which is beautifully rose gold. It does
feel loose and cheaply made, like the entire stick might fall out any time now.
Ingredients: vitamin E for nourishment. No parabens. The scent
is extremely faint, actually, it might even be unscented. The expiration date
is 12 months after opening.
The colour of this highlighter is rosy pink. It’s got a
decent amount of red pigment so that it’s not too pink. I love this colour but
it is definitely way too dark to be a highlighter! I can use it as blush,
though!
The formula is creamy and slightly greasy, perfect for
blending! It really is buttery! And indeed, it blends super easily, especially
with fingers! The formula blends into the skin, making it look radiant! It’s
also quite easy to overdo the blending so that it is barely visible. So you
need to be careful with the blending! It’s extremely easy to have an even layer
of rose colour. The formula sets quite quickly and it doesn’t enlarge my pores
visually. It’s really just a great formula, especially for oily skin!
Pigmentation is quite intense! It’s really bright and
vibrant but when it’s properly blended out it just gives a natural wash of
colour. It’s great for pale skin, if you use it as a blush instead of as a
highlighter! There isn’t really a whole lot of shine in this highlighter stick,
it’s more like a natural, radiant shine. When it is properly blended out the
shine is minimal, so it can definitely be used as a blush. The shine looks like
it would be soft gold when you look at the stick, but it’s actually a neutral
white shine.
The fine gold shimmer isn’t visible on skin at all. The texture
is, therefore, naturally radiant, not fake-looking, and it doesn’t enlarge
pores.
This highlighter is super comfortable to wear! The formula
is thick, but it is surprisingly light on skin. I forget I am even wearing it! And
the fact that it’s in stick form, that makes it so super easy to apply
precisely on your face! Just swipe where you want it and then blend it out with
your fingers! Nothing simpler!

This highlighter is super easy to remove; it doesn’t matter
what you use to remove it. Micellar water, gel cleanser, oil-based remover,
they all work great! There is also no leftover shimmer.
All in all, this is a good highlighter, if you have darker
skin than me. However, if you use it as a blush, then it actually works
stupidly well! The stick form makes for extremely easy application and the
buttery smooth formula is super easy to blend. With a brush or with fingers, it
blends into a super natural, soft rosy colour. This isn’t a shimmery
highlighter, even though it does have very fine golden shimmer on the stick.
Instead, it is a soft, more glossy effect. I love how it gives me this natural,
soft flush of colour on my cheeks! It’s perfect for winter, and this colour is
a great match for pale skin, especially if you have neutral undertones. It’s
also very comfortable to wear, at least for oily skin. So, instead of getting a rosy highlighter, I found a new use for it: a beautiful rosy blush! Honestly, I
think I am going to recommend it! It’s just really good!

Would buy again? NO, probably
