Essence Caring Nail Oil Nails & Cuticles Daily Treatment Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - December 14, 2022
The first review is the Essence Caring Nail Oil Nails &
Cuticles Daily Treatment.
This is the second nail oil I bought, mainly to see which
one is better. The other Essence nail oil turned out to be quite excellent, so
how does this one compare?
Packaging: just a round clear glass bottle with an apricot
coloured cap.

Ingredients: apricot (Prunus armeniaca) kernel oil, vitamin
E, myrrh (Commiphora abyssinica) resin extract, horse chestnut (Aesculus
hippocastanum) seed extract, ginseng (Panax ginseng) root extract for
nourishment. No parabens. Wow, that’s quite a list of caring ingredients! The
scent is very pleasant, smelling very sweet, like cotton candy. I really like
this scent, but others might find it too sweet. The expiration date is 18
months after opening.
The colour of this oil is orange in the bottle, but it is
clear on nails. It is a kind of apricoty orange colour.
The brush is phenomenal! It’s a large flat brush that is big
enough to coat the entire nail with oil in just one swipe. It is also very
precise in spite of its large size. This brush makes it so easy to really tap
in oil into your nails and cuticles.
The formula is oily (who would’ve thought, eh?) but very
light. It is really lightweight on my nails, so I barely feel it is even there.
And it absorbs really fast, especially into the cuticles! I think it feels
caring enough for my nails and cuticles, but it doesn’t really repair them the
way the other oil does. Despite using it nightly, I still have some brittle
parts on my nails and my cuticles are still swollen and not looking good. I
would say that it does help condition nails and cuticles but if the damage is
severe (like in my case, due to excessive water exposure) it won’t be able to help
matters much.
Of course, this oil isn’t at all durable when it comes to
having a shower, washing the dishes... etc. It can be washed off with water. That’s
not a problem, though, as long as it absorbs as quickly as it does.
All in all, this nail oil is good, but not quite as good as
the other Essence nail oil. I really like the smell and how quickly it absorbs
into the nails. But it’s just not nearly strong enough to repair my cuticles
and nails. It helps them... a little bit, but my nails still have brittle parts
and my cuticles still look swollen despite using it nightly. It’s probably much
more effective when the damage isn’t quite so severe. So it’s actually a slight
disappointment, especially when the Repair Nail Oil was such a great find! I
definitely won’t recommend this oil to anyone who has severe nail/cuticle
problems; those with nails/cuticles in normal condition will benefit from this
oil, though. It’s not terribly bad, I just thought it would be better.
Rating: 7/10
