Sinsay Moisturising Hand Cream Parrot Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - January 03, 2024

One of three bird-themed hand creams for this week! The first one is the bashful little parrot! This is the Sinsay Moisturising Hand Cream Parrot! Note that these don’t have an “official” name, so this is the closest approximation.

As soon as I saw these creams I knew I had to buy them immediately! I am an avid birb lover, so any products that have birds on the packaging, especially such adorable birds, appeal to me immensely! I especially love cute little birbs like this parrot! I was actually supposed to just buy one dress, but how could I not buy this little birdie friend?? I didn’t even care about the quality, I just wanted it! Let’s see how good this cream is!

Packaging: omg!! It’s sooo cute, aww! It’s a smooth plastic tube with the most adorable lil parrot! It’s so smol! I love the lavender/white striped pattern, it’s soothing and fits perfectly with the parrot. The parrot is very happy to see you! It’s even happier to help moisturise your hands ♥︎! All the information about this cream is in the back. The cap is white and closes super tightly so that the cream lasts as long as possible! I cannot explain how much I am in love with the design of this hand cream! Aww, sooo adorable!

Ingredients: glycerine, shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil, barley (Hordeum vulgare) powder, peach (Prunus persica) fruit extract for nourishment. No parabens. Hmm, sounds hydrating! The scent is intense and very tropical and summery! I myself wouldn’t be able to identify what it smells like, I’d just say that it’s aromatic and sweet and somewhat zesty at the same time, with a definitely tropical tone to tone Thankfully, they spell out exactly what this scent us supposed to be: guava fruit! Aha! Explains why I wouldn’t know, I have never eaten guava or even seen it in real life (I have heard of it, though). It’s a delicious scent! The expiration date is listed as a specific date on top of the tube.

This is a white cream – who’d have guessed??

The formula is interesting but very pleasant! It’s thick and greasy, but it’s not oily greasy. It’s a much more dry type of grease, like butter. It’s a totally smooth formula that is easy to buff into the skin. However, it’s thick, right, so you do need to rub for a while before it is 100% absorbed. It absorbs within seconds then, and doesn’t feel at all tacky or greasy or oily. I can actually barely feel it at all! It’s such a lightweight formula, despite being greasy. I really love this formula! It’s super comfortable and since it dries so fast you can use it before bed without worrying that it will smear all over the bedsheets!

Well, honestly, it’s not really all that moisturising! Or maybe my skin is just too demanding... as it can get really dry sometimes (but still sweaty). I routinely develop patches of super dry skin on my palms (probable keratolysis exfoliativa?), which feel sandy and irritating and even itchy at times, so I need rich, highly moisturising creams for my hands. This one feels too light after it absorbs, like it’s not going to help much. And indeed, it does not, as those cracked, dry patches are still there when I wake up (I always apply a hand cream before going to bed). But, that doesn’t mean it is a totally useless cream! It is hydrating enough for most of my skin (apart from those dry patches) and it keeps my nails in good shape

So I’d say that it is going to be good for anyone with normal skin, perhaps even mixed. I wish it were more hydrating, especially given the name, but it is good enough, honestly.

In conclusion, while this cream isn’t the... ‘cream of the crop’, shall we say, it is still a good cream. I love its unique buttery formula that feels greasy, but more dry greasy. It feels pleasant on the skin and it absorbs quickly. It’s also a very lightweight formula! Perfect for everyday use! But it is, sadly, not very moisturising, despite being called a moisturising cream. It hydrates the skin to some degree, making the skin softer overall, but it cannot help with skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema or keratolysis exfoliativa. You’ll need a much richer cream for that! The other great thing about this cream is the scent! It smells so deliciously tropic, literally like summer! This is because it has a natural-smelling guava fruit scent! I honestly wouldn’t know it was guava had they not specified that; I am not too good at identifying specific plants/fruit inside fragrances. To me it smells like July, like summer and vacation and swimming in the ocean. Perfectly soothing! Also, the design! Look at that lil birb! This lil parrot seems very happy with the cream, and you know what? I’m happy with it, too. It may not be exceptional, but it is a good everyday cream that keeps my skin in good condition (as long as there are no other conditions). Honestly, I would recommend itbut only to those who have normal-type skin! It’s just not enough for extra dry, or oily skin. Now, say goodbye to lil Princess the Parrot!
