Trend it Up Quick Dry Nail Polish [020] Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - October 12, 2023

Hello!

Today I am going to be reviewing the Trend it Up Quick Dry Nail Polish, shade 020.

This nail polish was 50% off when I bought it, after debating for the longest time which shade I would buy. I originally wanted a more beige shade, but that one wasn’t available in my DM, so I bought the one closest to it, which is this shade, 020. It looked more nude than mauve in DM's lighting, but I actually liked its true colour once I saw it in neutral lighting. Trend it Up's nail polishes are pretty hit-or-miss, usually being average quality; is this one like that? Let’s see!

Packaging: fairly standard, just a clear glass bottle that is narrow and rectangular. The cap is black and can be closed very tightly.

Source: dm.hr

Ingredients: no harmful ingredients, though there is vitamin E and zinc sulfate for nourishment and strengthening. There is also diatomaceous earth, interestingly. And also, octocrylene, which is a common SPF ingredient? I guess my nails will be protected against the Sun’s UV rays. The scent is like most nail polishes, but is a bit harsher. The expiration date is 24 months after opening.

The brush is actually excellent! It’s a flat brush with rounded edges that picks up an absolute ton of polish. It’s very precise and applies polish evenly and thickly. It is big enough to apply polish on the entire nail with only a swipe or two.

The colour is pale mauve, like a slightly grayish pink. It’s a nice neutral colour, although I thought it would have more brown tones. I think it’s a good colour for winter.

The formula of this polish is relatively watery, but is very silky. Like, it’s so wonderfully silky! Not one bit thick and gelly. A single layer is already pretty much opaque, though it does look better with two layers. It’s totally opaque with two layers; don’t apply more than two layers or it will look too thick. One layer is also quite even. It’s a really pleasant formula to use! It claims to be a quick drying nail polish, but since I always use nail polish express drying drops I cannot really judge this properly. The texture is highly glossy, almost like glass! Wonderful!

Longevity is extremely good! I noticed only a few scratches on day 2 of wearing it, far fewer than most other nail polishes! So it can be worn without a top coat no problem! After 5 days of wearing it I didn’t experience any chipping at all! Even washing my hair didn’t cause it to chip! There was only a bit of peeling on my cuticles, which isn’t a big surprise since my cuticles aren’t in terribly good shape most of the time anyways. I never expected this nail polish to be so long-lasting, especially since Trend it Up’s polishes are rarely this long-lasting!

Removal is super easy. I didn’t have to rub a lot to remove it and it didn’t leave any discolouration on my nails.

In conclusion, this is a fantastic nail polish! Really surprising that Trend it Up has such a spectacular nail polish; that doesn’t mean that their polishes are rubbish, no, but they aren’t usually this good. They are usually somewhere between average and pretty good. The formula is very nice and silky and so easy to use! It somehow doesn’t end up being scratched up a lot. It is also extremely durable, showing no signs of chipping or any other kind of damage, even after 5 days. And the colour is a lovely pale mauvey, great for the rainy days of autumn and winter! I really love this nail polish, I love it far more than I ever thought I would! So, of course it gets a recommendation!
