Ziaja Med Dermatological Formula with Vitamin C + HA-P Deeply Regenerating Night Cream Review
August 30, 2023
The only new thing today, but it's a good one, I promise!! This is the (prepare for a very long name in a moment!) Ziaja Med
Dermatological Formula with Vitamin C + HA/P Deeply Regenerating Night Cream. Could
this name be any longer??
Anyways, I needed a good night cream, since I didn’t have
any before this one. I used to use a daily moisturiser as a night cream, thinking that it would
be enough. I don’t have dry skin, I thought, so why would I need a specialised night cream? Fine lines and aging, that’s why. I have already developed expression
wrinkles on my forehead, and my skin isn’t getting younger, so something deeply regenerating while I am sleeping is starting to feel more and more necessary.
Enter this night cream! I picked this one in particular not because it was
among the cheapest (although that for sure was one reason), but because I read
glowing reviews of it. And previous Ziaja Med products turned out to be
incredibly compatible with my skin, so it was worth trying this night cream
out. So, let’s see how oily/problematic skin reacts to this cream and whether
there are any long-term effects!
Packaging: cardboard outer packaging, like most creams. This is where you’ll
find all the information about the cream, from the ingredients list, to the
expiration date (not PAO), to flavour text. It’s simplistic in its design,
being white with an ochre stripe that signifies that this is part of the
anti-wrinkle line of products. The cream tube is relatively compact and
features the same minimalistic white/ochre design as the cardboard packaging. The
bottle is made of this super soft and flexible plastic that’s easy to squeeze.
I like this type of design, minimalistic and a bit medicinal!
Ingredients: glycerine, methylsilanol hydroxyproline
aspartate (hydroxyproline is a major component of collagen), panthenol/provitamin
B5, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate, ascorbic acid) for nourishment.
There are parabens in this cream: methylparaben. Vitamin C, collagen and HA,
powerful combination! This should help the skin regenerate overnight, but we’ll
see how it works on oily skin that isn’t mature yet. The scent is gentle and
quite pleasant. It smells creamy and like expensive creams. Such a nice,
relaxing scent! The expiration date isn’t marked as PAO, but as a real date (09/2024
in the case of this one in particular).
This is a white cream. It already feels rich just when you
squeeze it out of the tube, wow! Since this is a regenerating night cream,
expect it to be heavier than your typical moisturiser. The formula of this
cream is super creamy and rich, but also kinda heavy. It’s not really greasy,
just really creamy. Now, this creamy formula allows it to be super easy to
spread across the face, which is great, and it also doesn’t leave any streaks
or marks or anything. It also does not pill, even if you apply way too much!
It’s just such a luxurious formula, so creamy but not in a suffocating-like
way.
While it does feel slightly heavy, like a cast or a heavier face mask
while it is absorbing, that feeling soon disappears, being replaced with an
incredibly nourishing feeling. I really love this formula, even though I most
often put too much cream! Side note: this is a heavier, nourishing type of
cream that makes the skin shiny and a bit greasy looking. However, since this
is a night cream, you are probably going to bed after applying it, so really
who cares?
This cream absorbs quite fast; within a minute it’s already
absorbed with no tacky residue. It’s just super smooth and soft after it
absorbs. And it doesn’t even feel heavy on the skin; Night creams tend to be
too heavy for my skin, but this one is just right, light enough but still rich
enough to show real results. I love how soft my skin is in the morning, the
cream absorbs fully into the skin within an hour or two, but it still remains
soft until you wash your face in the morning.
Speaking of results, I think they are quite good! I say
‘think’ because I am not 100% sure whether it’s this cream or the niacinamide
serum that’s making my skin this good. I do think it’s this cream, though. I
have been using this cream for quite a while now, I have used a whole tube, so
I can vouch for the effects this cream offers.
Long-term, my skin is a lot more smooth, with visibly
improved skin texture! I can’t remember the last time my skin was this smooth! Indeed,
it does promise to “visibly soften and moisturiser skin”. My skin seems to be
more hydrated in general, although, of course, depending on hormones, diet, and
amount of sleep it can still look tired and dry. It looks like there’s at least
a tiny bit less sebum throughout the day, which is amazing! My skin is still
oily and problematic, I doubt anything will change that, but it looks like it’s
in better condition. Just don’t expect it to do anything to help with acne,
it’s just not made for that.
As for the anti-wrinkle effects, since I don’t have
deep wrinkles yet, I may not be the best candidate for this cream. However, I
do have fine expression lines that are really starting to annoy me, especially on
the forehead. This cream seems to keep them in check, it does not look like it
smoothens them out like promised, though. Still, I am very happy to have
something that will prevent them from becoming too bad! I really love the
condition my skin is in, now that I have been using this cream for more than a
month!
In conclusion, I cannot say for certain whether this is the
best night cream for me, but it is bloody brilliant still! My skin is oily,
problematic/acne-prone, with enlarged pores and fine expression lines; I am
using this cream as a form of wrinkle prevention. The formula of the cream is
wonderfully smooth and easy to buff into the skin, just so creamy and not at
all greasy. Wonderful! The scent is relaxing and creamy and not very intense,
it smells like a high-end cream! Lovely! But here comes the best part: this
cream has made my skin texture completely smooth, whereas before it had a
rough, damaged texture due to constantly using salicylic acid for acne. I am
still using BHA, that hasn't changed, so this cream is obviously strong enough
to counter the damage that anti-acne products usually cause! I literally cannot
remember the last time my skin was this smooth! It also looks more hydrated on
average. As for the fine lines, they don’t seem to be less visible or filled
in, but they do seem to be taking longer to become deeper. It’s like this cream
is keeping the fine lines in the same condition they were in when you first
started using this cream. And it also doesn’t cause any new breakouts or
irritations, thank god. So, it seems I have found a wonderful night cream that
works amazingly well on oily, problematic, not yet mature skin! The changes are
massive, and for the better! My skin seems to be overjoyed with this cream,
which makes me, too, happy! Since it’s so picky it’s a miracle I scored jackpot
on the first try! A simply fantastic night cream that isn’t too expensive,
either! Highly recommend it!
