Ebelin Nagellackentferner Express Acetonfrei mit Weisse-Blüten-Duft Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - April 12, 2023

Another nail polish remover! This is the Ebelin Nagellackentferner Express Acetonfrei mit Weisse-Blüten-Duft (Nail Polish Remover Express with White Flower Scent, in English)!

This nail polish remover seemingly replaces the old Nagellackentferner Express, which was absolutely brilliant! Literally, it was the best nail polish remover I had ever used! This one is pretty much the same, only with an added floral scent. So, naturally, I had to buy it! If it is at all good like the old one, like I am hoping it is, it will have been worth the money! Let’s see if it is that good!

Packaging: this remover comes in a relatively large plastic bottle. The bottle is antique rose coloured with a deeper rose cap. Lovely colour! Besides that, there’s a sticker with all the relevant information regarding this remover. The cap closes very securely, preventing any mishaps and keeping the remover fresh for a long time. It’s a very nice design, I’ll admit!

Ingredients: macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) seed oil, almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil for nourishment. No parabens or harmful ingredients. It’s nice that there’s both macadamia and almond oil, that will surely keep the nails from drying out! The replacement for acetone in this remover is ethyl acetate, a classic choice. Ethyl acetate is just as effective at removing nail polishes, in my experience, but it doesn’t damage nails nearly as much as acetone does.

The scent is, at first, like all other ethyl acetate removers: intensely chemical and strong, so much that it can burn the nose. But after the ethyl acetate evaporates it develops a really lovely floral scent that isn’t at all intense. It’s gentle and a bit oriental. A very pleasant scent! The expiration date is 12 months after opening.

The liquid is colourless and evaporates pretty much instantly on nails. It stays liquid inside the bottle, in the sponge.

This remover is unique by having a sponge inside the bottle that is permanently soaked in remover. The sponge stays soaked for ages! Then you just put a finger inside the bottle and swirl around for a short while. Because of that, it is not appropriate for toenails. Nail polish is removed in seconds due to the friction between the nails and the sponge. The sponge is really soft so that it is as gentle on the nails as possible. It’s actually a genius system!

This nail polish is extremely good at removing nail polish! It’s literally you just swirl around the bottle for a couple of seconds and everything is gone! No matter whether it’s a classic type of polish or a shimmery polish, or even glittery, everything is removed just as easily! It can only be a little bit of an issue to fully remove nail polish from the sides of the nails, but even that isn’t really a problem. It’s a miracle how easily it remove all types of nail polishes! It makes the whole process of removing nail polish stupidly easy and simple!

My nails don’t look or feel dried out or damaged from using this remover. That is certainly due to the nourishing oils present in it! My nails don’t even develop those rough, drier areas that usually happen after using other removers. I still buff my nails and polish them, but now it’s because I want to do that, not because I have to.

So, in conclusion, this nail polish remover is stellar! It’s every bit as excellent as its now retired sibling. I think I actually prefer it to have this subtle floral scent, so that makes this one a tiny bit better than the old one. This remover functions by having a sponge inside soaked in the remover, so that, when you put your finger inside and swirl, the friction between the sponge and the nail removes all nail polish. It sounds deceptively simple, and it is! And it works flawlessly every time! No matter the kind of nail polish: glossy, shimmery, glittery even, they are all removed in seconds! It just feels fun sticking my finger in, swirling left to right, right to left, and then seeing that my fingernail is completely clean! So it’s both fun and incredibly practical! Of course, if you use it to remove glitter nail polishes, you will have traces of that glitter inside the bottle which can get on your fingers every subsequent time you use the remover. But it’s not really annoying. Oh, and since it has both macadamia and almond oil it nourishes the nails so that they don’t become dry and brittle like they sometimes do after removing nail polish. This remover is damn perfect! There is literally nothing that I can say about it that’s bad. Definitely get this one if you are looking for a new nail polish remover and don’t like (or cannot use) acetone. If I had to rank it, it would be S+ tier, it’s just so good! Absolutely recommend it!
