Eveline Oh! My Kiss Lipstick [09 - Smile Jasmine] Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - January 04, 2023
Hi!
I have one cute item for review today, the Eveline Oh! My
Kiss Lipstick, in the shade 09/Smile Jasmine.
BIPA had some stickers with discounts that you could stick
on whatever you wanted, and I decided to use the -30% off sticker on this 2 in 1 lip
balm and lipstick. I was torn between picking a chocolatey brown shade, a more mauve shade, or this bright coral shade, they all looked so pretty! But in the
end I decided to buy this shade because it looked so summery and bright. Let’s
see if it truly is both a lip balm and a lipstick!
The packaging itself is pretty and cute; the colour of the
tube is exactly the same as the lipstick so it makes swatching it easier and
the cap is reflective gold. This lipstick also has golden letters and little
golden hearts on the tube. The cap fits relatively well; I am never 100% sure
that it is actually closed tight because it always seems a bit loose. This is a
lip stylo type of lipstick. The retraction mechanism is excellent and very
precise and easy to use, and it seems quite sturdy.
Ingredients: petrolatum, shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter, peptides (palmitoyl hexapeptide-12) for
nourishment and no parabens whatsoever! I was quite surprised to see that there
are only 10 ingredients in this lipstick, which means that roughly a third of
them are nourishing ones! The scent is lovely, it smells just like a peach,
really yummy! The expiration date is 12 months after opening.
This lipstick is extremely pigmented and vibrant! This is a
very bright salmon shade with lots of pink base tones, and it is gorgeous on
pale skintones, on which it really pops! It’s completely opaque and
thick-looking. The formula of this lipstick is divine: it’s such a creamy and
soft formula that feels like a good quality lip balm; even though it is a rich
formula it doesn’t feel too heavy on the lips, although it is still noticeable
that it’s there. I did notice that it’s a bit tacky, which isn’t really a good
thing.
But because of how terrifically creamy and lip balmy it feels it is
actually very comfortable to wear, despite the tackiness. As for the
application, it is super easy thanks to this being a lip stylo, and a thin one
at that; it is pretty much as easy as using crayons to line your lips due to
the angled and thin shape of the stylo. And the thick, creamy formula makes it
glide across the lips.
The texture is very glossy, somewhat silky and with a ton of
shine, adding to the ‘wet’, moisturised look of this lipstick. This texture
doesn’t emphasise the lines in my lips, even if they haven’t been exfoliated
properly. Instead, it makes my lips look smooth. It’s a really nice texture! It
is not one bit drying, owing that to the powerful emollients present in it (petrolatum,
shea butter). Peptides help the lips look smoother and healthier.
This lipstick
does start to feel a tiny bit less creamy after a few hours of wearing it but
it is still plenty comfortable.
But how durable is it when it’s this creamy? I can say that
it is very, very durable; it doesn’t budge at all while I am wearing it,
there’s not a trace of feathering, smudging or anything else after more than 4
hours of wearing it. And during that whole time my lips felt moisturised, and
nourished! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about how well it deals with
food: you will have to reapply it after eating because it does fade from the
centre of lips. Honestly, I am not too surprised that it is like this, because
creamy lipsticks usually don’t fare too well with eating.
One other great thing is how easy this lipstick is to remove,
whether using micellar water or an oil-based remover. Just one swipe and it’s
gone!
All in all, I was really amazed by how great this lipstick
looks, and how nourishing it is. I really like the cute packaging, with the
little adorable gold hearts, and I love the colour of this lipstick on my pale
skin: it’s such a vibrant and beautiful salmony pink that’s ideal for summer. Eveline
claim that this lipstick: “...nourishes and smoothes lips, making them
softer.”, and that is definitely true, it feels like a luxe lip balm, being
rich and thick and creamy on the lips. And even though I usually prefer matte
lipsticks, I actually really like the shiny, glossy texture of this lipstick,
as it makes lips look even healthier. Even the application is fantastically
easy due to the shape of the bullet. You might think “wow, this lipstick is
perfect!” with the praise that I am giving it, but there are some flaws
with it. The formula is somewhat tacky and eating food makes it fade, making it
necessary to reapply it. But considering everything, and that it’s also got a
great price, I would definitely recommend this, even if only to use it as lip
balm.
