Catrice Hop, Hop, Hooray! Mini Nail Lacquer [C04 - Lavender Bouquet] Review
By Maychiri's Thoughts - November 30, 2022
Hello folks!
Today I have two adorable little nail polishes for you, the
first is this Catrice Hop, Hop, Hooray! Mini Nail Lacquer, in the shade
C04/Lavender Bouquet.
I was passing through Müller one day, browsing and seeing
what new items they’d gotten when I noticed a Catrice display on one of the
shelves with Easter-themed nail polishes. Apparently that was a mini collection
that had mini nail polishes and regular-sized nail polishes just in time for
Easter. The regular sized polishes were all nude or pink or mauvey, while the
minis were all pastel colours. I was debating what colour to buy, especially as
Müller hadn’t gotten the OPI X Xbox polish I wanted and a few of these shades
were quite similar. So I finally decided and got two shades, a pastel blue and
this beautiful pastel lavender. Let’s start!
The packaging is adorable! It’s a tiny rectangular clear glass bottle
with double caps. The first cap is decorative and has an adorable bunny face with bunny ears. Sadly, the ears are made of paper, so they aren’t very durable and
can get pretty roughed up. The real cap is inside the decorative one and is
ribbed and white and can be screwed very tightly so there is no worry that it
might spill. I must say, Catrice have really put a ton of effort into the
design of this nail polish! It’s perfectly adorable and just perfect for Easter
with the lil' bunny face and ears! I love it!

The colour of this polish is a beautiful lavender purple,
perfect for spring and it looks very nice on pale skin. I honestly didn’t think
it would be this pretty!
The brush is, as always with Catrice, exceptionally good!
It’s a small flat brush that is big enough to coat my entire nail in just one
swipe and it picks up so much nail polish, too! It is so easy to use that
painting my nails felt like child’s play.
The formula is relatively thick and goopy, kinda gelly but
it is still thin enough to be easily spread over the surface of nails. It is
definitely thicker than the previous few nail polishes I wore prior to this one. One
coat is roughly 90-ish percent opaque, which means that with two coats it is
totally opaque. It would definitely look too thick with three coats, so don’t
overdo it. The texture is glossy.
It is quite long-lasting, even if it did get chipped while I
was cleaning my turtle’s terrarium on day 3 of wearing it. To be fair, I don’t
expect any nail polish to survive that unscathed, given the harsh chemicals used
in the process. The chipping wasn’t too bad though; it was only bad on a few
nails, most nails still looked more than okay. Prior to that there was a very
tiny bit of chipping on the free edge of nails.
Removal was quite easy and didn’t require too much rubbing
to remove. There was also no staining at all.
All in all, I really, really love this polish, and I
genuinely didn’t expect to like it this much! I am not usually a huge fan of
blue or purple nail polishes, preferring nude nail polishes, but this one is
seriously beautiful! The formula is thicker than usual but is very easily
spread across the nails, and even just one coat ends up being pretty opaque.
The brush is phenomenal, as is usual for Catrice. Also, the longevity was a
nice surprise, only chipping due to me using harsh cleaning chemicals. And
the design is adorable: a little bun bun face with cute ears. That all makes it
more than worthy of a recommendation!
