Sinsay Cream Mask [Iced Latte] Review

By Maychiri's Thoughts - June 20, 2024

Only one little mask to review today! This is the Sinsay Cream Mask, variant Iced Latte!

I don’t know why I keep coming back to Sinsay face masks when they keep consistently letting me down... actually, I think it’s the cuteness factor. Yep, I adore adorable stuff, and this lil mask is just sooo adorable! I love the lil mischievous face! And besides, it’s super affordable, so why not try it? I just hope it doesn’t cause any irritations or make my acne more inflamed... fingers crossed! Now, let’s take a look at it!

Packaging: plastic sachet like most face masks. But it’s sooo cute! Very kawaii! It looks a bit mischievous with that face, does it not? Like it’s up to something... I love this adorable design! The text is white in the front, which is an okay choice, but it’s black in the back, which is much easier to read. Although, the text is tiny! Very cute sachet, I approve!

Ingredients: glycerine, almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil, shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter, caffeine, coffee (Coffea arabica) seed extract, vitamin E, dog rose (Rosa canina) seed oil for nourishment. No parabens. I find it interesting that there’s caramel. The scent is very peculiar; it smells very sweet but there is also a definite bitterness to it. It smells vaguely like coffee, but mostly like sugar or something sweet. I cannot drink anything caffeinated so I cannot say whether this is what iced latte smells like, but it seems plausible... if you add a ton if whipped cream and sugar! It’s a nice scent, it’s not very intense so it’s not irritating. Oh – I know what it reminds me of: caramel! Yeah, it’s a lot like caramel. I like it. This mask should be left on for 15 minutes, and then it should be rinsed off with warm water. The expiration date is listed in the back of the sachet.

This serum is light brown in colour, like real iced latte! This is a very nice colour, but it’s barely visible on my skin. Oh... it’s got sprinkles. Yay. The sprinkles are multicoloured, there’s red, blue, green... it adds a bit of fun. Although I am not too keen on them.

The serum is super greasy and thick and feels occlusive. I guess I don’t mind it that much here because this mask is supposed to be washed off... but it’s still fairly uncomfortable on my skin. The sprinkles can feel slightly sharp at times, unless you spread the serum gently across the face. It spreads easily across the face, a perk of being so greasy. Oh, it also feels kinda hydrating somehow?

The serum is not easy to wash off. If you aren’t using some sort of towel it will take a long time. I had to wash my face again and again and again until it was gone, as it still felt greasy in many places. But I managed to wash it off eventually, it just took a longer time than I would have liked.

Oh, hmm. I’m not sure I like how it feels all that much. At first it felt a bit warm, like it was going to cause an allergy on my skin, particularly on my chin where there’s a bunch of acne. This luckily went away, and was replaced by a cooling sensation. Almost like menthol but there is no menthol here. I guess it’s the caffeine. It actually feels surprisingly light now that the warm feeling is gone... very interesting. The cooling sensation feels very slightly like an allergic reaction is forming, but it is also kinda calming at the same time. It’s definitely energising, that’s for sure! And it kinds feels... wet? It is very odd...

Ooh, the results are actually pretty good! My skin looks and feels refreshed and energised; it’s like I had a shot of espresso! It feels and looks hydrated and it feels softer to touch. It also looks much smoother! Pores look more refined and fine lines look softer. It’s also so much brighter! Especially around the undereye! I may be going to bed but my skin looks alive and awake! So far, it doesn’t seem to have caused any irritations, even though it is pretty greasy, which is something my skin really does not like. But the results are actually fantastic! I’m blown away! Like, Sinsay masks aren’t typically this good... but it seems my skin really enjoyed this dose of caffeine! At least one of us does haha!

The next morning, my skin still looks quite good. It’s not quite as awake and bright as the night before, but it still looks balanced and happy. The oils and greases may be causing one or two acne to flare up, but it’s a much milder reaction than what I expected.

All in all, wow, this mask is not like many previous Sinsay masks... it’s actually quite good! Now, I’m not allowed caffeine because it affects me too much, but man do I love the smell of coffee! So when I saw this little mask that has a scent of –  supposedly – iced latte, I had to buy it and try it! I have no idea what this is supposed to smell like, but the mask smells very sweet and quite a bit like caramel with a noticeable bitterness in the background. I like this scent, it’s pretty nice. The serum is light brown like a latte but it also has sprinkles... sprinkles. Why? Just why? I guess they’re going for the cuteness factor but they don’t do anything and are just another risk factor for developing irritations. Anyways, the serum is super thick and greasy, much too greasy for my skin. Although, it feels surprisingly light once I apply it! It feels weird on my face; warm and cooling at the same time, it definitely feels like it’s about to cause an irritation or allergy but it doesn’t. It doesn’t have menthol so I don’t know why it has this peculiar sensation... it’s probably the coffee extract and caffeine tbh. I’m not sure I like this feeling, it’s not too comfortable. But the results are splendid! My skin looks visibly brighter and more awake, and pores look narrower. My skin feels more hydrated and it both looks and feels refreshed! So everything that they promised is true! It even made my skin look like it’s got a smoothing filter on – the photos are unaltered, as always, it’s just the way my skin looks after I wash off this mask! This is wonderful! Although, it does feel like a few acne are going to become inflamed the next day, this has a lot of grease, after all. So, like, I don’t know. It’s good, no denying that, but it’s also got some problems. Tell you what, I will recommend this mask, but only to people with normal/mixed skin; I think it’s far too greasy for oily skin.
