out this 7th Heaven Barbie You've Got This Pink
Chocolate Purifying Clay Mask!
To say that I don’t like Barbie would be a lie. Although I
wasn’t the biggest Barbie kid, I did have a couple of dolls and I enjoyed
dressing them up. But the real Barbie fever came much, much later.
Specifically, with the live action Barbie film! I’ve always loved Barbie pink as
a colour, but this film made me realise that I actually like Barbie much more
than I thought! So when I saw that DM had a few Barbie clay masks, I knew I had
to get one of them – especially because they (or at least, one of them?) seem to be themed around chocolate!
My precious, precious chocolate! I chose this one because ‘purifying’ felt like
the best choice for my oily, problematic skin. But is it? Well, let’s see!

Packaging: sachet, as usual. But since this is a
collaboration with Barbie™, it is very... girly, I’d say. Which is right up
my alley! I love the purple and magenta colours used; it is still a very
feminine design without drowning in a sea of bright pink. The white goes so
well with the purple! The text is white as well, so it is very easy to read. All
the information is in the back, as usual. Now, yes, there is like a dozen
different fonts used here, so it does look a bit jumbled, and the front is a bit
too busy in my opinion. But I do love the name: ‘You’ve Got This’ is a
fantastic reassuring message, as is the ‘Be Good to Yourself’ – I frequently
forget to do that, so I needed this message. You can always count on Barbie to
pick you up the ground and dust you off!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Barbie
collab without the woman herself being there – along with two friends, with
varying skintones! A+ for diversity! Because everyone should be able to
experience this mask!

Ingredients: cocoa (Theobroma cacao) seed butter/fruit
powder (aka, chocolate powder!), glycerine, shea (Butyrospermum parkii) butter,
sweet almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) oil, juniper (Juniperus communis) fruit
oil, vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) fruit extract for nourishment. No parabens.
The clay is kaolin, which is a pretty common choice for face masks. Oh... my...
god, cocoa butter is literally the third ingredient??? And it has chocolate
powder??? Oh this really is tailor-made for chocoholics like me! The other
notable ingredients are nourishing and purifying ones, so this mask should have
visible effects – in theory. We’ll see in practice. The scent is indescribably
opulent and delicious! It’s everything I ever wished for in a chocolate-themed
mask! Now, beware, this scent may make you crave chocolate – it smells
legitimately like the richest, most gooey chocolate! Like an amazing chocolate
mousse with dark chocolate filling underneath it! I cannot even begin to
describe how much I love this scent! Ahh, it’s literally perfect! But it is
super intense; I can still smell it on my face throughout the next day! And I
smelled it the entire time the mask was drying; my nose usually gets used to
scents much quicker than this... or perhaps it did not want to get used to this
heavenly scent? Quite possible! Anyways, the expiration date is listed only on
the translated sticker; I cannot find it anywhere on the sachet. This is
standard practice for 7th Heaven masks. The mask should be left on for 20 minutes, so that the clay can harden, and then it should be rinsed off.
I don’t like this long time, but I get why it is what it is.

Colour: oh... I thought this would be dark brown, like
chocolate, to match the heavenly scent, but it’s actually light pink! I guess
it is called ‘Pink Chocolate’ for a reason; it reminds me of ruby chocolate or
chocolate that has strawberry yogurt filling. Both are delicious, but not
nearly as much as dark chocolate. It looks very milky on my skin, and the
thick, clay formula makes it look so yogurty.

So, this is a clay mask, but it doesn’t actually feel that
much like clay. It is just very, very greasy. So greasy that it feels slippery.
But that does make it easy to apply as it doesn’t tug at the skin. That also
makes the mask very heavy and occlusive, but that is common with clay masks. It’s
actually slightly more lightweight than most other clay masks, but it still
feels like a thick layer sitting on top of my skin. Of course, since this is a
clay mask, the formula changes while it is drying, becoming much drier and
cakey. It also starts to crack after about 20 minutes. Again, usual stuff with
clay masks.
Since the formula is so slippery and greasy, it is very easy
to apply this mask. It doesn’t start to dry for at least a few minutes after
applying it, so you have plenty of time to make sure it is applied properly. It
needs to be applied in a thick layer, so it is great that it doesn’t start to
dry too soon.
Reading the ingredients, I thought it
would just feel very nourishing, so this is a surprise – but I actually kinda
like it!
I was worried that this mask would be hard to remove – clay
masks can often be very difficult to wash off, after all. But this mask is
actually very easy to remove; I didn’t have to scrub my face with a makeup
remover pad and not a lot of the mask stayed on the pad, either, which will
make it easier to clean the pad. Although, even after thoroughly removing the
mask, I can still smell the chocolate very clearly. Not that I mind! It’s just
an observation.
My skin still looked quite clear and purified the next day,
although the brightening effects were diminished greatly. So it seems that my
skin is pretty happy with this mask?
Overall, ah, it’s so lovely that my skin enjoyed this Barbie
mask! The only thing that would’ve made the whole experience better would be
watching a Barbie film while it is drying, though none of them are as short as
how much time this mask needs, which is 20 minutes. Although, 20 minutes is a
bit long for face masks, I prefer shorter drying times. Seeing – and
especially, smelling! – this mask is making me crave chocolate! This is
dangerously delicious-smelling! It smells literally just like the richest, most
delicious dark chocolate! And it’s an extremely intense scent, so intense that
I can smell it under my nose the entire time the mask is drying! Usually, I
would mind having such an intense scent, but here I adore it! And even though I
washed off the mask thoroughly, I can still smell the chocolate scent the next
day. It’s making me hungry, ngl! I could do with some delicious hot choccy
right now... but back to the mask! The mask isn’t chocolate brown, it is
actually light milky pink. I mean, this variant is called ‘Pink Chocolate’ so
this shouldn’t be a surprise. The formula is super greasy, and it doesn’t feel
like clay all that much. Well, not at first! After it starts to dry, then it
becomes much more clay-like. It feels heavy on skin, but the results are well
worth this; my skin is noticeably more purified, with pores looking much
narrower and more refined. And my skin overall just looks clearer, if that
makes sense. It’s also a bit more radiant, so it seems that my skin enjoyed
this mask as much as I enjoyed the scent! It also doesn’t cause any irritations
or breakouts, so it is suitable for sensitive skin – I should know, because my
skin is very sensitive! Yay! I knew I could count on this choccy mask! And on
Barbie! Now time to wear pink head to toe, to celebrate how good this mask was,
and to eat seven bars of chocolate! I will indeed recommend this mask, it is
very good for anyone looking to give their skin a deep purifying cleanse!
